Titus, Part 2

By now, the reader has probably assumed that the mysterious and inconspicuous businessman Titus Dunleavy is evil or harmful or twisted, which is certainly not the case. Titus is just different. Freakishly and praternaturally different, yes, but not in the least evil or harmful or twisted. He's not even misunderstood. He's overlooked. He's ignored. He's written off. The rest of the world is not cruel, cold, and self-centered, though. It just doesn't see him. He's nothing special to anyone but himself. And he doesn't mind. He understands that if he was anything but invisible, with a life involving the rest of the world, that the revelation of his secret would be inevitable. So for now, he's content to wake up each morning, chose a different-colored tie each day, sign the papers that are passed to him, ride the subway home, open doors for people, and, in the time between, alter the fabric of the universe.
