Titus, Part 3

Of course, Titus Dunleavy can't jump through time or anything like that. He's still bound by the fourth dimension of time, just like the rest of the world. But unlike the rest of the world, he can exist in the fourth dimension at will and manipulate the other three lower dimensions. Now, to the average human, the time dimension is intangible, and he is carried along by it without even realizing it. But while everyone else allows themselves to float aimlessly down the river of time, Titus has learned to embrace the flow of time and emerse himself in the hidden dimension. From this place, he can distort the dimensions of height, breadth, and depth with his mind like a three-dimensional person might distort a two-dimensional bedsheet. Many people assume a three-dimensional shape is solid, just as a cartoon drawing might assume a two-dimensional drawing is solid. But to a person existing outside of the bounds of the lower dimensions, 3D space appears as flat as a cartoon. And to person like Titus, this presents an interesting hobby. Rippling the three-dimensional fabric often goes unnoticed, since everyone else exists in the fabric, and when it is noticed, it is mostly written off as an illusion. Seeing through things, mysterious light refraction, sudden disorientation--when Titus is around, one might have to blink twice. And take a Dramamine. It would be wrong to say that Titus doesn't enjoy the ability to control things so utterly and completely. It is really his only joy in life. But the three-dimensional fabric isn't infinitely flexible. With Titus' continuing vigorous pursue this hobby, a rift is inevitable. A gaping, destructive rip the likes of which have never been seen before. And that would be noticed.
