| English Job Maze-www.englishjobmaze.com/index.htm This is a site where you can post your resume for companies to find you as well as search for jobs yourself. You can search by starting date which is very convienient. Oxford Seminars- www.oxfordseminars.com/index.htm This company only offers courses in the US, Canada, and Australia. They offer TESL certification on the weekends at various locations for a six (6) week session Tefl International- www.teflcourse.com/default.htm Another school that offers certification in TEFL/TESL. This one does not offer online courses though it does have campuses in various locations around the world, e.g. France, Italy, Morroco, Thailand, China, Brazil, Mexico, Czech Republic. US State Department-www.state.gov This site gives link to travel warnings issued by the US government for countries that may be hostile to American tourists. It also lists vaccinations that are recommended, includes links to the embassies and consulates. VERY helpful and I highly recommend checking out the site. US Embassy- usembassy.state.gov This is the official site for the United States Embassies all over the world. Here you will find information about Visas, passports, requirements for visitng the US and other government information. Time Ticker-www.timeticker.com/main.htm This site has a interactive world map that when you clock on it shows you the time and date anywhere in the world. It is VERY useful when you are going all over the world traveling or need to call home and can't remember the time differences. CIA World Fact Book- www.odci.gov/cia/publications/factbook/index.html This site will give you a lot of basic informaiton about any country in the world, from political/government information, monetary/economic information, and demographics. TESOL, Inc.--www.tesol.org This website is a veritable feast of information. It is an international community of TESOL resources. Conferences, lesson plans, job notices, current research in the field. It is all around very helpful. Overseas Tax Services: US Income Tax Preparation for Americans Overseas --http://www.overseastaxservices.com/index.html I have not used this site before, but I think it is a very good idea. Use it at your own descretion but I think it can be very useful. The idea behind the site is obvious. You go overseas, you make money, you come home now how do you show the IRS the money you made without paying through the nose for it. |
