| Hi Everyone Welcome to my webpage. Here is a little about me and a portal to the other pages I have created. Education background: I attended the Woodland Community College off and on from 1997 to 2005. I was there for two years after I graduated high school then transfered to UCD, then returned for a year before I went overseas. When I came back I went back and took some miscellaneous classes and tutored for two more years. I then finally decided to go to graduate school. Overall, I have completed approximately 25 units of Early Childhood Education (ECE) training, 3 classes of advanced native speaker level Spanish, and several classes of education training through this school. In 2001, I recieved a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Linguistics from the University of California Davis. The program covers the basic units of language, syntax (grammar and sentence formation rules), morphology (how the words are formed-im [negative marker]-poss [base of the word]-ible [adjective marker]), semantice (how we give meaning to the words and use them within different contexts), phonetics (the individual sounds that make up language [this is the foreign looking letters in the dictionary that tells you how to pronounce the words]), phonology (the rules governing how we put those little pieces of sound together), and historical linguistics (how languages have changed over time). I am currently enrolled in the University of Phoenix-Gateway Oaks Campus, in Sacramento California. I am studying for my Masters Arts in Education specializing in Curriculum and Instruction. I will recieve my degree in October of 2006. Teaching experience: I interned at T.L. Whitehead Elementary School in Woodland CA, during the 2001-2002 school year. I worked with first through third graders 18 hours a week. My first overseas position was in Ichon South Korea. I worked at the Sisa Foriegn Language School, from August 2002-July 2003. I taught Test Of English for International Communication (TOEIC) preparation courses as well as basic converstion/grammar classes for children and adults. While enrolled at Woodland Community College, I worked in the tutoring center helping students with basic Arithmetic, pre-Algebra, first and second year Algebra, Spanish grammar, and English grammar/composition. All together I have six and a half semesters of tutoring experience. I have also done private one-on-one tutoring predominately in algebra. |
