| My Gear Probably the coolest page on the website...time to checkout my gear :-) Pictures will be coming soon, but below is a list of gear, hardware and software that I use and am currently using to record some original material. Guitars - Ibanez Jem7VWH My main guitar...definatley the most comfortable guitar I've ever played in my life. Loaded with 9's. I originally wanted to get a high-end Ibanez as I love the feel and sound of them. I managed to get this as a second hand import from America and was well under half price of the new retail price here in the UK. Currently it has a modified bridge pick-up - it is fitted with a Sustainiac Sustainer, although I am probably going to put the original 'Evolution' pickup back into it. I always take this to Tegas. Ernieball MMJP 7 The newest addition to the family! I sold my Ibanez JS1000 to buy this - again imported from America. This is a fully loaded, 7 string model, complete with Piezo pickup. It is loaded with 10's and it completely rocks. I have yet to take it to Tegas or gig with it at all as I'm still getting comfortable playing 7 strings, and I'm currently adapting some songs to play on a 7 string. More info on this guitar coming soon... Vintage (Unknown Model) My first electric guitar...a Red Vintage guitar. This is loaded with 10's and it still sounds good, though the neck is a bit uncomfortable. I sometimes use this to get some good rhythm tracks down, though this is being replaced in many cases with the Ernieball Musicman. Peavey Milestone II Bass Guitar Who says cheap basses are crap? This is the cheapest bass I could find about a year ago and It's really comfortable. It has improved strength in both hands and it sounds amazing, even with the stock pickups. All the bass is recorded with this. Amplifier I use a Marshall 6100 30th Anniversary head running through a 2x12 cabinet. The tone on this amp is sweet! One of the best Marshall's I've ever played through. Marshall have a reputation of having a poor clean sound - not this one...an amazing clean sound, yet a somewhat naff crunch sound. I never really run through the amp on it's own, I'll usually have some chorus, or some sort of effect to brighten up the sound. This brings us onto... ONTO PAGE 2 FOR EFFECTS! |
