Boss DS-1
An amazing distortion pedal for lead guitar work... the holy grail among many guitar players, myself included.  There's so many guitar tones you can get out of this little stomp box.

Boss MD-1
Yeah, another distortion box lol.  I had this one before I had the DS-1 and I always intended to sell it but I just never got round to it.  It has a very good distortion sound for rhythm guitar but it's a bit too heavy for me to be honest.

Zoom 606
My very first effects unit, and I still have it.  Has some pretty cool sounds on it, including a flange effect which I have yet to hear a better one.  It's a bit flimsy and hasn't really stood the test of time.  Has definatley been outdone by the Line 6 pod.

Digitech Whammy
Now for some real fun :-)  What a cool unit!  Although this is usually seen as a gimicky effect, it does have some real good use.  I'm currently experimenting using a killer riff which uses this.  Not only does it do the 'whammy' effect, it has a built in harmonizer which is great.

Dunlop Cry Baby
The classic wah pedal which has such a great sound.  Out of all the wah pedals I've tried, only the Bad Horsie has a better one... but to be honest, I felt it was too marginal to warrent buying one.

Boss Super Chorus
Great pedal which does the job...I haven't really tried any other chrous pedal apart from ones part of multi effects units, but this has a really great sound.

Fulltone Ultimate Octave

Another crazy pedal...it's hard to describe the tone of this.  It's fuzzy, but think Hendrix, Purple Haze.   Or think the Crystal Planet solo by Satriani.  It's like a warped distortion pedal, but it really rules.

Line 6 Pod
My favourite pedal.  Its a multi-fx unit, but its like nothing you've ever used before.  You can customise everything!  It's basically an amp simulator as well and you can do things like change the position of the mic in front of the amp...change the kind of room the amp is in (to get different sounds and natural reverb etc).  If you have the time, these are just so great.  Great for recording purposes too (if you want to record onto a computer)

Behringer BC1010
This is basically a midi controller for the Pod - program the patches onto the pod and change them with this foot controller.  Great if you don't mind spending the time programing patches and getting to grasps with the depth that this thing has to offer.

Strings

I use Ernie Ball 9-42's on my Ibanez Jem for lead work, and Ernie Ball 10's for rhythm work on the Musicman.

Plectrums
I use custom .72mm most of the time, though I like to change occassionaly.  I also use a custom 1.0mm plectrum and Jazz III's sometimes.
