Ok...I'm 33, single and live in Far North Dallas. I'm successfully self-employed as hairstylist in Dallas, home of the original "BIG HAIR" I do my part to contribute to this phenomenon by selling tons of hairspray! I have been in the hair business now for 15 years and love the freedom, creatvity, constant ego boost that it gives me every day! My thanks to Juli Ann Dugan for constantly boosting my ego! I have fabulous clients who let me be totally creative with their hair! Also check out my Mary Kay rep client's website at: www.mymk.com/lalbright. I'm originally from Southern California...born and raised, a true nut! I attended Catholic schools all my life and in high school went to an all girls high school! Pomona Catholic Girl's High was my life( bain of my existense) for 4 years!Yikes...see Sr. Francis?? See how I turned out now?? I'm now what they call a "recovering Catholic". Which basically means that I only go to church and, this is stretching it, at Midnight Mass. I really don't feel that I have been "scarred" by my upbringing, I love relationships, don't think I'm going to go to hell for kissing someone whom I'm not married to...so I'm ok. The only thing I believe harmed me by going to private school was that it did not prepare me adequatley for the harsh realities of the world and the people that inhabit it. For an interesting story of exactly how messed up people in my world affect me, click here for my story on PsychoBarbie. Gosh, I love the 1st ammendment and free speech! Being from California, I love the outdoors! Although I do have to say the Texas outdoor scene almost kills me with it's oppresive humid heat! Yuck! I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie so I sometimes find myself jumping out of perfectly good airplanes! I also love to snowski and try to go at least once a year.My local way of getting back to nature takes me into the many bike trails of Dallas. I really enjoy the White Rock Trails here in Dallas...it's a 20mile bike trail that pretty much takes you all the way through the city, underneath the freeways. I enjoy just getting in the car after work on Saturdays and driving, just driving and ending up wherever. Some of my best experiences have been this way! You never know what you are going to see or who you will meet. Currently I'm working on a vacation plan to Nepal for 2001. Something about Nepal, Katchmandu and Everest attracts me. I hope I am able to see my plan to fruition! see! One of my current loves is the net! On the net, I am known as "salongirl".The net is just an incredible place and what an awesome time we are living in! Anything you want, want to know or see is found on the net! My net interests run from Ebay(i'm a junkie),building this webpage, meeting new people and exploring personal homepages I find in geocities.I have also become intranced by Napster! I just cannot stop downloading mp3's! There is also some incredibly weird stuff out there too! Check out www.darklinks.com www.rotten.com or www.cadaver.org) .I am interested in travelling and www.frommers.com is a great resource! Even though I have yet to take an actual trip, this site is PACKED full of information covering every kind of budget travel one can imagine. This site has it all for summer camp for adults, freighter cruises around the world to a home exchange message board where you can switch out staying in your home for living in, oh, say Germany. Very cool idea and I hope to someday try it out! I believe in the power of spirit and that spirit in people. One of my favorite websites on the net is www.oxygen.com. This site is an Oprah related site and has wonderful, innovative ways to recharge one's spirit. Check out the site if you are into personal growth and spiritualality. Although I often lament out loud being single, I certainly do have my share of experiences in dating! I have met many people off the net in person and some I've never met nor will ever meet. One of my dearest friiends that I will never meet is a man I shall call "Trump". This is a man I met via the webcam on www.icuii.com. I have known Trump for almost 3 years now. He has always been there for me (via the net of course). I made one of my biggest decisions regarding my business because of him and him talking me through the positives and negatives of making a change. With me, he is a wise soul, who I feel a strong connection. Although we probably will never meet, our relationship is pretty strong and I do listen what he has to say, and that my friends is SOMETHING! I do love this man alot! We mainly do our talking now via icq and I treasure this man! Another good friend of mine is "Dragon". He is one of the 1st people I started chatting with when I got my computer. He is a Texas boy, cat lover like me and a dancer! Woo-hoo! He is also a GUD(geographically undesirable). Most times I feel that I am probably better off being single as no single man has been able to keep my attention for very long. I also tend to think my "ideal mate" would be a man who travels alot. We'll see, stay tuned...Some other good friends of mine are Nicole, Debbie and her family(my 2nd family),Kelly Allison, Gina,Steve, Vince, Pam &Denise and Laura at work. I also have a very special client, Lois. Recently I registered at a neat website called classmates.com. You can register for the schools you attended. I did and have hooked up with an old friend of mine, Cathy Canchola. I went to school with this girl for 13years! She has done an incredible job of updating me on who is doing what from our small class from St. George's Elementary School. I totally reccomend doing this, as it is so much fun! You might want to try Planet Alumni as well. All in all, I have a pretty good life! I owe it all to my parents, old friends and teachers for instilling morals and values. These people also let me be exactly who I wanted to be and have enabled me to become a halfway responsible adult who loves life! They also gave me independance. And let me tell you, I AM independant! Independence is definetly a trademark of a Gemini, and I am a TRUE Gemini! Click here to read about Gemini's traits. This description describes me to a "t"! Thanks for taking the time to read about me! |
