| Nathaniel has been so busy this year that we needed to add a second page! |
| __________________________________________________________________________________ June 7, 2003 Happy birthday, our sweet baby boy! We loved every minute of your second year. You have grown and developed greatly this past year. You have turned into a very active, happy, funny, loving little boy! We look forward to all the joys of your third year! We love you so much! __________________________________________________________________________________' June 2, 2003 Nathaniel is such a sweetheart! We were playing in the living room today and the cat pounced on my foot. I said, "look, Nathaniel, the kitty is getting mommy's foot." He ran over to me, tried to push the cat off my foot and said, "stop...no...momma." What a sweetie! __________________________________________________________________________________ May 18, 2003 Today Del sneezed and Nathaniel said "bless you." The other day, I was getting dressed and Nathaniel was by my closet. I asked him if he could get me my shoes. He picked up one sandal. Then he picked up a boot. He looked at the boot, put it down, and picked up the other sandal. Then he brought my sandals to me. I thought that was smart! __________________________________________________________________________________ May 9, 2003 Nathaniel has taken to not liking to wear his shirt - maybe because it is quite warm outside. He often asks to take it off. He is allowed to go shirtless in the house, but must wear one when we leave the house. Nathaniel has a few objects that he says by it's sound instead of it's name. I think it is so adorable! Here are a few of them: he calls a bunny a hop, a horse a neigh, a phone a call, and he will either call a cat a kitty or meow meow. Have you ever heard that cat food commerical where the cat sings "meow meow meow meow" over and over again? Nathaniel saw that commercial one day and now he walks around singing the "meow meow jingle" to that commerical! Too funny! Whenever Nathaniel doesn't know the answer to something, he turns his palms face up. It is so funny! He actually gets it from me. I never realized I did that until I saw him doing it. After that I noticed myself doing the same thing! It's too cute! __________________________________________________________________________________ May 8, 2003 This afternoon Nathaniel and I were playing in the living room. It is shedding season for the animals. Nathaniel saw a stop of dog hair on the floor. He said "uh-oh" grabbed his vacuum, and tried to vacuum up the spot. What a good little cleaner he is! Every night at dinner we say a prayer of thanks before eating and conclude the prayer by making the sign of the cross. As usual, we prayed this evening before dinner. After a couple minutes, Nathaniel said "amen" and tried to make the sign of the cross. How precious! __________________________________________________________________________________ April 30, 2003 Today Nathaniel and I went to have the tire on our van fixed. As we were paying, the receptionist handed me 4 little york peppermint patties. I gave one to Nathaniel saying, "would you like a mint?" and he devoured it on the way to the car. As I was strapping him into his car he said "mint mint." I laughed and said to myself, "he sure learned that word fast." I gave him his second mint. He ate that and then chanted "mint mint" all the way home! __________________________________________________________________________________ April 29, 2003 We have a screened in porch off our house. Nathaniel has decided that the porch is a great place to play. He likes to take brooms and his toy vacuum out there and "clean." I keep the door to the house open and the door to the outside closed. That way he can come in and out as he pleases. This afternoon Nathaniel asked to play "side" as he calls it. I opened the door for him and the phone rang. I didn't have time to pick up the dog water before I answered the call. I said to Nathaniel, "please don't touch the dog water." Well, wouldn't you know it. When I came back just a few minutes later from that call, he was placing his hands in the water and wiping them in his hair. I guess he thought his hair needed cleaning. All I could do was laugh at him! __________________________________________________________________________________ April 28, 2003 Nathaniel walked up stairs without any help from me today for the first time! He did this at our Parent's Connection playgroup. He held onto the banister and climbed them all by himself. We are very proud of him! __________________________________________________________________________________ April 26, 2003 Del's parents are in town visiting us. I put a night light in the hallway so they could see where they were going in the middle of the night. Nathaniel found the night light today. He was so excited when the switch turned on a light. He came running to me saying, "light light." Nathaniel loves his grandma. He must have trouble with the "gr" sound because he calls his grandma "beeba." It is so cute! __________________________________________________________________________________ April 23, 2003 Today we went to Grant's Farm. Nathaniel had a blast feeding the animals. We bought him a few bottles to feed the baby goats. Sadly the goats were full and had no interest in eating. Poor Nathaniel kept sticking the bottle up to the goats and they wouldn't drink. He did, though, have a great time petting, hugging, and even kissing the goats. Then we got to feed the adult goats grain. Nathaniel laughed every time a goat ate from his hand. Then we got to pet the baby pot-bellied pigs. One of the baby's came over to Nathaniel's hand and touched it with his nose. Nathaniel giggled thinking it was hilarious! __________________________________________________________________________________ April 20, 2003 The Easter Bunny came this morning! Nathaniel had the best time hunting for his eggs. Since he is still little, the eggs were hidden in plain view. He would spot and egg and run full speed to collect it. Then he would run to daddy, who was holding the basket, and place it in. He did such a good job finding all the eggs and looked absolutely adorable! |
