World Cup Champs: Brazil!

For the 5th time, Brazil have won the World Cup. Such an exciting game, with a bad first half offensively for Brazil! Brazil's Kleberson hit the crossbar and Germany's Neuville hit the post. Then, at the 67th minute, Ronaldo nails in a rebound off a Rivaldo shot. It was 1-0 Brazil. A bit after the 70th minute, Germany's best Miroslav Klose substitutes with Jeremies. The game seemed over for Germany, as Brazil's defense was better than ever. Suddenly, at the game's 79th minute, Ronaldo sneaked a shot past German goalkeeper Oliver Kahn into the lower-right corner, resulting of a beautiful pass by Kleberson as well as a good play by Rivaldo. It was his second goal of the game and his 8th of the tournament. The game finished 2-0. The German's received their silver medals and the Brazilians received their golds. Then, Brazil captain Cafu stepped up on a small table and raised the World Cup trophy high into the air. Music started and confetti flew everywhere! What a great achievement for Brazil. Ronaldo! Rivaldo! Cafu! Marcos! Ronaldinho! Kleberson! Roberto Carlos! The whole team!! Ronaldo won the Golden Boot award for MVP. This was Cafu's 3rd World Cup win and he will now retire. I can't forget to note that the Germans played an amazing game as well!

The World Cup trophy awarded to Brazil:

Turkey defeats Korea for Bronze.

At 6:30am this morning, I was watching the game. A very bad 1st half for Korea. Turkey's Hakan Sukur had the fastest goal ever in a World Cup Final, resulting of a horrible give-away by the Korean defense. Then Korea tied it up with a far shot on a free kick by Yong, deflecting off the Turkish defense. Then a beautiful back-pass by Sukur to Ilhan Mansiz who kicks a low shot past the Korean goaltender. Again, Mansiz gets another, lifting a shot over a sprawling goalkeeper Lee Woon-jae. It is 3-1 for Turkey after the 1st half. Korea didn't show any effort in this 1st half with very bad defensive plays and discipline. The next half only had one goal. It was by Korea's Song who scored in stoppage time after the 90:00 minute-mark. The final: 3-2 Turkey. Medals were awarded for bronze and 4th place; the referees were given medals also.

My Predictions for the Turkey-Korea game were good.

The next game is Saturday, June 29th at 6:30am ET. It is the Bronze medal game between South Korea and Turkey. My predictions are that Turkey will win. (FINISHED 3-2 TURKEY)

The World Cup final between Brazil and Germany will be played on TV Sunday, June 30th at 6:30am ET as well. My predictions are that Brazil will win. (FINISHED 2-0 BRAZIL)
