ANNUAL SCHOOL BARBECUE & PICNIC |
Our HFA will soon be planning this year's FAMILY PICNIC NIGHT, scheduled for Thursday, June 15th, from 5:30 to 8:00! We encourage you to mark the date on your calendars now. Our instrumental students will perform an outdoor concert for us at 7:00. Families are invited to bring a blanket and a picnic dinner. Desserts, drinks, and other refreshments will be available. Be looking for more info about this event in the next little while. Our HFA will be looking for volunteers to ensure a fun night for everyone. There will also be a fun draw that evening. Any prize donations are gratefully accepted and can be brought directly to the school office. The more prizes the better! Last year there was a lot of excitement and MANY happy winners. Keep the night open. It's a great way to end the school year. |

The Hillcrest Fundraising Association would like to invite all students, their families and staff to the annual year-end family get-together. This event has become one of Hillcrest's most popular activities and has been well attended by the Hillcrest community. This is also an excellent opportunity for the students in the music program to share their talents and their hard work. This year, we invite you to bring a "picnic dinner" (sandwiches, pizza, chicken, etc.) and let us provide the "extras"...soft drinks, coffee, home baked goodies, chips, etc. We will also be providing a number of "fun acitvities" such as face painting, hoop throw, fish pond, etc. before the music program. RAFFLE TICKETS will also be on sale for one dollar each or three for two dollars! This is always an exciting part of the evening. How would you like to shave Mr. Adrien's head or doodle on Mr. Robertson's face? Pretty tempting eh? But only if you buy the raffle tickets... |

SPARC DAY CAMP by a Hillcrest parent I would like to tell you about a great community program that my children have attended in past summers. This program, SPARC Day Camp is run all summer at Richard's Memorial Park on Lakeshore Rd. As a parent, I found this program beneficial for the kids because it encouraged friendship and got them into sunshine and away from their gameboys! Activities include sports, crafts, music, special guests and theme days provided by trained, experienced and caring counsellors. An Exciting new program this summer is "ADVENTURE CAMP", designed for 12-14 year old. This is offered only AUG. 14th - 26th. This camp is unique in that it includes daily outings and an overnight experience in a provincial park! This program has very limited space. If interested, I would recommend that you call soon. For more information, Please call the SPARC office at 278-7895 Brochures are available in the school office

Hillcrest Dress Code: Now that we are in a warmer season, we remind parents that students are to be dressed appropriately for school. Please do not send students to school in "skimpy" clothing. Midriffs should be covered. Spaghetti strap tank tops with bra straps showing are inappropriate. There are many styles of cotton t-shirts available which are cool and more suited as school attire. Hats and bandannas are not allowed. We appreciate your support. |
