As you
can see, I am quite interested in anime/manga. But I do love other
things as well. Read, is one of them, movies another. My CD player
almost constantly plays music, because I'm addicted and don't really
like silence. In the sports department, I am quite fond of indoor
bandy and basketball. I love to write, think (rather like daydream)
and sometimes even draw. I am more of a writer than a talker though,
and while I am quite easy to get along with, I don't really approach
other. I've been told that I am sarcastic and quite cynical at times.
(Hmm, out of all the Saiyuki character quizzes I've taken, I become
Sanzo 99% of the times. ^^;)
My obsession with Saiyuki is quite new, and my biggest and longest
fandom is still Gundam Wing. Still, Saiyuki interested me greatly
and I love the manga. I am still trying to earn enough money to buy
the anime, and have only seen episodes 1-10. If I'd ever put Saiyuki
into a category, I'd say it was a shoujo series for girls who usually
watch shounen. It is more character-centric than plot centric, which
I personally think makes the difference in shoujo versus shounen.
And most guys don't seem to like Saiyuki very much. But you have to
admit that Saiyuki isn't the usual fluffy shoujo series either, right?
(I don't like shoujo very much.)
I started
this site because I came from the GW fandom to Saiyuki. GW has got
trillions of fics everywhere, and while there might be a lot of crap,
there are lots of wonderfully good fics too. (Sunhawk's, Kracken's,
Sol 1056's, Jei's, Link Worshiper's, Ashkara's, Casey Valhalla's...to
mention a few.) In
the Saiyuki fandom though, the majority of the fics are really
bad. Mary Sues, use of bad clichees, OOC and cheesiness...95 percent
of the fics are stuffed with this. And besides, I've had a hard time
finding fansites with real archives with stories. So I decided to
build an archive of my own, filled with my favorite fics I've managed
to find. Goku-centric mostly, but some fics are starring other characters.
