Plot Challenges
Okay, all of these challenges have been posted on Plotbunny 101, but I thought it made sense to put them here as well. If you write a story using one of these, please tell me! I'd like to post it here.

Challenge 1: Baby Challenge

Jim and/or Blair is forced to father a child. Neither they nor the mother are consenting, but if they don't do it, someone will die. The mother should either be someone they work with or a stranger who is much too young for them under normal circumstances. At least one angry parent under major misconception about the circumstances is required.

Challenge 2: Star Trek Challenge

This one is actually my sister, Theresa's, plotbunny. It's for those of you who like to write epic fics, as it involves a lot of detail. Details are key!

AU crossover with the Star Trek universe, not any particular show, but in the 24th century, during ST:TNG. On Vulcan in primitive times, there were two main tribes. One group produced Sentinels, and the other produced Guides. Later, the tribe which produced the Sentinels remained on Vulcan, while the group who produced Guides left the planet and became the Romulans. When the Vulcans and the Romulans separated, Jim and Blair didn't, for whatever reason. Either they are immortal for some reason and have been traveling through the universe and have just returned to Vulcan, or they end up being kidnapped and brought forward in time. You must deal with their reactions to the current Vulcan/Romulan relations, both worlds' histories, and both worlds' relationships with other sentient races. Q may NOT be used! He's a wonderfull character, but it's too easy to use him to effect changes. We want you to work at it! Changing Jim and Blair's names is probably a good idea.

Challenge 3: Pretender Challenge

Requirements: Blair as a Pretender, one of the children that Catherine Parker rescued. Jarrod as someone other than a cop or a fed. Three different obscure tribal or cultural references, extra points if at least one can be verified as RL. Naomi as Michelle's twin sister, but they don't know it. Jarrod remembering Blair from the Centre. DSA with Blair in it. Jarrod discovers Jelly Belly jelly beans. Post TSbyBS, Blair as a cop. Angelo as Blair's brother, discovery made by Mr. Brutes. Jarrod involved in Jim and Blair's case, but didn't start out investigating it. Discussion about "classic" cars. Buttermilk doughnuts. RC toys other than cars. A big dog that's not a cop, but is a marshmallow, not mean. Sneaks. Pop Rocks candy.

I contacted Jelly Belly to ask them how to credit them in my story and they politely requested that I not use their name, so I'm passing that on to anyone who might be writing an answer to the challenge. The best solution would be to change the name of the product, like they did for the Clay Dough episode.

Challenge 4: Dune Challenge

You can blame this one on the Scifi Channel.

For this challenge, you can aproach it from one of two ways: an AU or a dream sequence. The Sentinel part of the story may be AU, but the Dune part MAY NOT. It can only be altered from the books as far as it was altered in the movies on Scifi. The rating should be PG-R, no slash please. Insert Jim, Blair, and Simon into one of the historical breaks in the story, like a missing scene from Dune, Dune Messiah, or Children of Dune. Other TS canon characters may be used as well. Jim must be Fremen, and Fedaykin, but the others are negotiable. Slight changes in the pronunciation of their names is probably a good idea.

-------------------------
(Just an example...)

Belar, a student of history and of men, had long wished to study the Fremen of Arrakis, their ways, their history, their recreation of history through the Jihad. He was not a religious scholar; the religion of Mua'dib did not interest him in itself. He did not believe that Paul Atreides had been made a God. He only believed that the spirits had moved him like they did every man, only with the Emperor they had taken a much heavier hand than with other men.

(later)

Jahim slammed the intruder against the stone walls of the seich, holding his crys knife at his throat. "Give me one good reason I shouldn't spill your water on the rocks!"

Belar struggled to gain enough room in his lungs to speak. "Because you need me, Fedaykin! I have the knowledge that will help you to control your senses, to keep them from hurting you, to allow you to use them as you were meant to. Kill me now, and you face the sandstorm of your own mind alone. Allow me to live, to help you gain control, and you will never be alone in the storm again."

Feel free to take these pieces if you want. I just have no time to do this one. RL intrudes yet again.
