Bio

Ah, Saito. What can we say about him? In short... He's a corrupt cop, he likes soba...and he likes to kill things after he drinks. That's not to say he doesn't like to kill while sober, but...that's just the way he is. Oo;;

Long Version:
Saito was formerly the Third Captain of the Shinsengumi, and a pretty damn good swordsman at that. In fact, it was said that the only person who surpassed him, if not equaled him with a sword was Okita. His specialized technique is called the "Gatotsu." (That means 'fang,' you know.) A personalized form of the standard Shinsengumi attack "Hiratsuki," Saito's is a left-handed parallel sword strike. He works as an undercover policeman/professional assassin during the Meiji.
In episode 28 of Rurouni Kenshin, Saito appears for the first time in a flashback at the beginning of the episode. (Okita's only appearance in the TV show also happens to be in this 5 minute or so period.) We see him in all his Shinsengumi glory and we first hear his famous phrase -

Aku. Soku. Zan.

Aku. Soku. Zan - to slay evil immediately. Saito lives by this code, which was also the motto of the Shinsengumi. Like....if you're even slightly evil, get too close to Saito and you're finished, man. =D Just remember it's his idea of evil...
Later on in episode 28, he finally appears in the present era of the Meiji Restoration, just in time to beat up Sanosuke! (Oo There are a lot of Saito/Sano stories on Fanfiction.net...Just so you know...) I don't feel like doing an episode summary. x.x So for the next few episodes, Kenshin (well...Battousai) and Saito fight, attempting to finish what they started in the Revolution at Toba-Fushimi. (That would be...a cake! ^^ Nah, I'm just kiddin'.) Until Ookubo comes and ruins everyone's fun by complaining about Shishio.
After that....There's a huge empty space where the episodes I've never seen go. X.x; Then in Shishio's fortress, Saito fights Usui (w00t for the blind spear hentai...>>) and....I'm not spoiling it! (aka "It's been too long since I've watched it!") So...yeah. There you have Saito's first appearance in Rurouni Kenshin.

Personality
Saito is, in short, a bastard. Oo;; Except to his friends (i.e., Okita). And...yanno...(*mutters*) his wife, Tokio. (Before y'all get like "He's married? And you put him in a SHOUNEN AI COUPLE?" on me...he wasn't married to Tokio until after Okita died. And it was an arranged marriage. I think. _._; Maybe I should've mentioned her earlier....*coughs*) He's a very strong swordsman who holds strong in his beliefs (...more like belief.). He has a very cool, aloof attitude towards most other people. He can also be kind of....psycho at times. Often seen dramatically lighting/holding cigarettes, posing as he pulls on his (Mickey Mouse) gloves, or calmly walking into blazing infernos. ("It's all about the bling-bling." =D I love the outtakes, man.) Hangs out with Okita (pre-mortem) and Cho.

Appearance
Realtively wolfish in appearance. He's the proud owner of a pair of narrow golden eyes (T.T such a pretty color...I'm not even a Saito fangirl.).Has dark blue (I guess it's supposed to be black, but it's blue. >>) hair with four thin bangs that hang over his face. Had a shoulder length pony tail during his time in the Shinsengumi, but he cut it short after becoming a police officer. Wears his blue police uniform everywhere; wears a black t-shirt under his long sleeved blue jacket. Wears white gloves (that look like he stole them from Mickey Mouse. I love the gloves, but...Mickey Mouse...x.x; ) with everything. (Except his Shinsengumi uniform.) Desc. of the Shinsengumi uniform will be on Okita's page.
