Match reports round 8 played the 4th December 2004 _____________________________________________________________________________________________- Under 14/2 V Springwood To0day Ben was captain but lost the toss and we were sent out to field. Reece arrived at the field late and realised he had left his shoes at home so Matt's dad loaned him his. We got off to a great start with wickets falling in the 2nd,3rd and 5th overs having them 6 for 19 after 17 overs. At this point we went to sleep and Springwood ended their innings at 8 for 77. The wickets were spread with 2 to Zac and Reece and 1 to Jarrod,Kyle,Jacob and Mathew with 2 great catches to Jarrod The openers Jarrod and Jacob put on 59 for the 1st wicket in just 12 overs. Then Zac and Jacob put on 60 for the 2nd wicket, the game over in the 23rd over Well done boys _______________________________________________________________________________ Under 16 had a bye this round ____________________________________________________________________________________ Under 11 V Glenbrook/Blaxland Today we won the toss and our Captain Reilly Donlan asked Glenbrook/Blaxland to bat 1st Our bowlers lead by Noah,Brent and Joel led the way with some tight bowling, Sadly we were let down by some sloppy fielding with numerous catches going to ground. This let our opposition bat for 38 overs and they scored a very competative 5 for 127. After the loss of a few early wickets we saw Brent score a quick 38 before drinks to have us in a good position. After drinks Daniel and Mitchell continued the steady run chase to see us through to a good win off only 27 overs. Another strong win, Well played boys _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Match reports for round 9 played on the 11th December 2004 __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Under 11 V Glenmore Park Today our Captain Vickram won the toss and sent Glenmore Park in on a wet outfield. All our bowlers bowled very well with the wet ball and restricted the opposition to 7 for 84 off 40 overs. Some great catches helped our bowlers with 2 to Mitchell and one each to Brent And Reilly We then commenced our run chase with Mitchell,Noah,Danie and Vickram all scoring runs to give us victory in the 29th over. Another consistant display with all players doing a good job. Well done boys __________________________________________________________________________________________ Under 14 V Glenbrook/Blaxland Matt won the toss and elected to bat, Ben and Reece put on 42 before the wickets tumbled to 4 for 44. Then Robert and Bradley put on 53 in 11 overs with Brad getting his highest score of 17. Jarrod made a quick 16 for us to end up with 132 Glenbrook had only 9 players went into bat and were quickly in trouble with wickets falling regularly. Brian finished the innings with his first wicket of the season. All out for 43 We sent them in again and managed 6 wickets before time ran out A great effort by the boys and our first game with 11 players on the field _________________________________________________________________________________________ One day finals played on the 18th December 2004 ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Under 11 /1 V Colyton St. Clair Brent won the toss and sent Colyton St. Clair in on a fine day. The opposition started well but a great runout by Noah and David to have them 1 for 19. We then saw our best bowling of the season Two sensational catches by Matt and Joel we soon had themat 7 for 69 at the end of 40 overs. We then commenced our run chase with Brent attacking the bowling with great support from Daniel with an unbeaten 62 run partnership for the 2nd wicket seeing us home to a great win the final. Congratulations to Colyton St. Clair who were deserved finalists. In the end after winning all our one day games I congratulate our boys, much deserved winners ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Under 14/2 V Glenmore Park Robert lost the toss and we were sent into bat . We were in trouble at 4 for 20 before Aaron and Robert put on 47. Brad joined Aaron to put on 19 before we were finally all out for 105, the first time this year we have been all out. Glenmore Park were soon in trouble at 4 for 29 with a wicket each to Zac and Jarrod and runouts from Brad and Zac. Glenmore Park then had some good partnerships to get to 7 for 91 with victory within their reach Kyle struck with 3 wickets in 7 balls giving us a great 3 run victory. Never give up and anything is possible. Merry Christmas everyone and see you all in the New Year ______________________________________________________________________________ Match reports for round 10 played 15th and 22nd January 2005 ________________________________________________________________________________________ Under 11 On a fine day at Shepherd Park our captain Shiv lost the toss and we were asked to field. Our bowlers all bowled well today and we conceded only 16 extras. The boys soon had R.S.L. in trouble with 4 wickets to Daniel, 3 to Brent and 1 each to Aakash and vikram had R.S.L. all out for 79 Great catch to Noah and D.J. and some great fielding by Mitchell, Shiv and Joel helped our bowlers keep on top. We then had 1 hour to bat and with Noah and Brent leading the way saw us 2 for 42 at the end of the 1st days play. Unfortunately a wash out the second day saw a drawn result. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ Under 13/2 A washout against Springwood ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ Under 14/2 Reece won the toss and elected to bat. After losing 2 wickets early Jarrod and Jacob put on 36 then Jacob and Robert put on 88. Robert and Aaron put on 77 then Robert and Brad 38 In the end 288 off 60 overs with Robert's first century and Jacob's highest score of 61. Emu Plains went into bat the second week and were losing wickets steadily but taking a long time, eventually all out for 129, Zac with 3 and Jarrod, Jacob and Reece 2 each. With only an hour to go we had them at 8 for 69 with Zac, Jarrod and Robertt 2 each and Kyle and Mathew B with 1 and Aaron, as keeper, taking a catch and 2 stumpings. A great win considering we have just had a month off. A big thankyou to Mathew B. for filling in again for us, a wicket and 5 n/o from 2 balls well done ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Under 16 No score provided ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Round 11 played 29th January and the 5th February 2005 ______________________________________________________________________________________ Under 11 St Clair 8 for 164 beat Colyton St Clair On a fine day at Peppertree we lost the toss and were sent into bat, our openers Brent and Mitchell started well with a 50 run opening stand .We continued to score well and at 2 for 102 we were looking at a big score. We then lost Mitchell for his best score of the year at 42. Under 14 div 2 St Clair 94 beat Colyton St. Clair 93 Kyle won the toss and decided to bat, we were in trouble early and never really got going with wickets falling regularly only Jacob holding on to be not out 34. All out for 94 in 53 overs. We managed to get 12 overs in by stumps and had Colyton 2 for 9. Special thanks to 7 year old Marcos for fielding for us . Day 2 and Colyton struggled with all our bowlers on target eventually bowling them out for 93 to win by just 1 run. It just goes to show what you can acheive when you don't give up . Under 11 St Clair 6 for 132 beat Cranebrook 10 for 131 D Smith 36 D Smith 3 for 6 V Singh 19 A Nataraj 2 for 11 J Mason 16 B Williams 2 for 12 Today we won the toss and sent Cranebrook in to bat on a fine day. After a slow start our bowlers led by Aaron,Daniel and Brent had Cranebrook 6 for 58 after 23 overs.We then saw some sloppy fielding and catching which saw our opposition 6 for 114 after 38 overs . We then saw out catches taken and this helped Joel and DJ clean up the opposition to be all out for 131. Congratulations to Vickram,Mitchell and Daniel 2 catches and 1 to DJ. Our batting commenced in fine style with an opening partnership of 32 between Riley and Brent. we then lost some quick wickets but our middle order led by Vikram,Daniel and Joel saw us through to a good win. Congratulations boys for being undefeated Minor Premiers ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Round 13 for the Under14 /2 played the 12th February 2005 _______________________________________________________________________________________ A bye but had a friendly against Penrith R.S.L. 14/1s Aaron 25 n/o Zac 2 for 10 Robert 23 Marcus 1 for 3 Zac 14 Aaron 1 for 8 We played a one day friendly with the R.S.L. and it turned out to be great fun for all. Had a little surprise for one R.S.L. batsman, Marcus our intrepid 7 year old took the ball after drinks and took a wicket with his first ball, a great catch by his brother Robert. The fun continued with retirements and big hitting the order of the day Good luck in the semi-finals |
