| Semi-finals and finals match results and reports ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Semi Finals played the 26th and 27th February 2005 __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Under 11 St. Clair 6 for 212 beat Cranebrook all out 79 B Williams 123 n/o B Williams 2 for 12 D Smith 29 M Stevens 1 for 1 J Mason 16 R Donlan 1 for 1 R Donlan 7 J Mason & A Nataraj 1 for 5 On a fine day at Monfarville we won the toss and batted first, after a slow start a quick 91 run partnership with Brent and Daniel had us in a good position at 1 for 104 after 32 overs. Brent continued to build a big score with help from Riley and Shiv, at stumps we were 6 for 212 from 60 overs with Brent scoring a great 123 not out. Our bowlers then had to bowl on a wet outfield on Sunday. Some great bowling soon had Cranebrook under pressure with catches to Daniel, Brent, Mat and Vickram helping to bowl Cranebrook for 79 This now has us in our 2nd final of the year Good luck to all of our boys next week, another great effort ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Under 13/2 St. Clair lost to Springwood ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Under 14/2 St. Clair 4 for 138 beat Emu Plains all out 134 Robert 53 n/o Kyle 3 for 22 Aaron 22 n/0 Robert 2 for 19 Jarrod 13 Zac 2 for 20 Zac won the toss and sent Emu Plains into bat, it was 11 overs before our first breakthrough. Wickets stared to tumble with 7 catches 1 stumping and 1 runout Emu Plains top scorer with 52 Emu Plains were all out for 134 after 49 overs. We faced 9 overs before stumps losing 2 for 20 and Ben retiring hurt. Jarrod and Zac started well and looked like going on before both being out with the score at 42. Aaron and Robert came together and batted well taking us to victory with a 96 run partnership This was a good victory in wet conditions with our bowling, fielding and batting getting a workout from a much improved Emu Plains Good luck in the finals ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Under 16 open St Clair beat Emu Plains R Matherson 47n/o S Mood 2 for 1 S Mood 37 n/o S Hodges 2 for 6 P King 16 A Broadhead 2 for 20 J Rose 12 P King 2 for 21 ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Finals played on the 6th and 7th March 2005 _________________________________________________________________________________ Under 11 Grand Final St. Clair 6 for 166 beat Glenmore Park all out 92 D Smith 56 V Singh 3 for 4 B Williams 48 S Ashokkumar 2 for 13 N Cleur 10 R Donlan 1 for 10 A Nataraj 1 for 14 On a fine day at Shepard Park we won the toss and batted first. After a solid start by Vikram and Brent we saw Daniel and Brent feature in an 86 run partnership. We then saw another good partnership with Noah before losing some late wickets ending on 6 for 166 after 60 overs. We then saw some tight bowling by Daniel and Matt but our fielding let us down with many dropped catches, after 12 overs our opposition was only 0 for 18. Our tight bowling led to a collapse led by Vikram,Brent,Shiv,Riley and Arun all taking quick wickets. 3 great catches by Mitchell and a runout by Noah had our opposition 7 for 73 after 30 overs. Our boys soon wrapped up the tail with Glenmore Park being all out for 92. Special mention to Aakash and Joel who also bowled well. Also a special mention to Glenmore Park for being worthy final opponents. In the end after winning all of our round games we remained undefeated. This was a truly fantastic effort, congratulations to our boys on being worthy winners. Special thanks to all our parents, in particular all our helpers on training days, our manager Belinda and Avidy for making this a great year _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Under 14/2 Grand Final St Clair 85 lost to Glenmore Park 117 Kyle 29 Kyle 3 for 12 Jacob 20 Reece 2 for 12 Jarrod 2 for 15 Glenmore Park won the toss and went into bat. It was tight bowling all day from all our bowlers. Eventtually bowling Glenmore Park out for 117 in 62 overs. It was going to be hard getting the runs with Glenmore Park having very good bowling depth. Our best partnership of 27 runs between Kyle and Jacob was as good as it got. The steady fall of wickets ending in the 52nd over at 85. Congratulations boys on getting to the final, playing only 4 out of 13 matches with 11 players making the final was a great effort. We did win the One Day final so there is always something to take away from the season. We may be a small club but our Success rate is excellent.
