The first step was to get as much hardware stripped from the decks as possible, so I didn't have to pay $70/hr for someone else to do it.  I started by removing the lifelines and the boom before I went to the boat yard.
Since the chain plates are in the middle of the decks, they removed the mast to make the recore job easier.  This also gave me a chance to inspect my spar and perform some maintainence.
The boat looks pretty sad with no mast.  The stansions and bow pulpit will come off eventually.
Coming out of the water for the long winter.
