| Love Angel's Haven (her poetry notebook) 1. A day gone wrong I came to school ready to go to class. Then before I know it, history is made. The World Trade Center was it by a hijacked plane. Then learning that the Pentagon was also hit, I burst into tears. For my aunt works in the Pentagon. I could not focus for the rest of the day. All I could think of was my aunt and hope that she was okay. After getting home, I rush into my house, to find that she was okay. Now, I can only hope that everyone else involved is okay. I never want anyone to go through the kind of pain I went through. I hope the terrorists are found and that they can see what they have done to people like me. I know that some people have lost loved ones through these acts of war, even though no one deserved to have this happen. I can only hope that everyone that can be saved will be saved, and that no one ever has to go through what we have gone through these past few days and in the days to come. 2.Goal Running down the field, Wind blowing through my hair, The ball at my feet Ha! Past the defender I go. As I continue running, The ball still at my feet, More defenders attack me. I dribble and pass them by, faking them out As they frown, Knowing they cannot stop me. As I near the goal The goalie prepares to stop me, But she fails. For into the goal goes the ball. The crowd jumps up and screams. For with that goal, We have won the game. 3.What do we do? What do we do When we are attacked? What do we do When people are dying? What do we do When people cant be rescued? What do we do When terrorists try to tear our country apart? What we do is stick together as one country. We dont give up. We dont let the terrorists tear us down. We let our light shine As bright as it possibly can. 4. Someone Special Detication: To my Aunt Caroline, who survived the bombing of the Pentagon. I love you! Terrorists have attacked, Bombed the World Trade Center, Along with the Pentagon. They hijacked 4 U.S. planes and Crashed into our nations symbols. Smoke and Flames shot into the air. People who were able to see ran for their lives. The people trapped inside the buildings like rats in a cage, fought to get out. Many are left injured, some taken by death. But there is one special person that I know, Who was fortunate enough to have gotten out and survived. And I know thank God every day that she did. 5.9-11 September 11, 2001 That is a date no one will ever forget. The terrorists think theyve torn us apart, The think they have made us weaker, They think they have made our light dimmer, They think by destroying our nations symbols that we are too weak to retaliate back. When all they have really done is injured many and killed many people who didnt deserve it. All they have done is brought us closer. We will stay together as one. And no one can make our light dimmer. We will fight this battle to the end, for no one can bring us down from being the strong nation we are. If anything, our light becomes even brighter. |
