| Professor Gast, married to Iflana, the last surviving ancient, once was the most brilliant scientist alive. He discovered the JENOVA project and was partners with Hojo. After retiring from his job, professor Gast and his wife settled down in a small home located in Icicle Inn. Shortly (6wks) after having a child (Aeris), Hojo had located where Gast ran off to. Since Gast had the last surviving Cetra that would lead to the 'promise land', Hojo tracked them down. When time came to capture them all for scientific experimentation, Gast resisted trying to save his wife and daughter. He was then shot and killed.
