HISTORY OF THE COLUMBIA, MO ALUMNAE-PATRONESS CHAPTER
March 4, 1967 marked the first day positive action was taken at a morning coffee at the home of Elaine Grev. More than thirty alumnae and patronesses of the Columbia area were invited. Ten alumnae and six patronesses were present.
The next meeting following summer vacation was September 1 at the home of Helen Harrison. Mrs. John Rufi's resignation was accepted, because a chapter cannot charter with a patroness holding the office of President. Elaine Grev became acting chairman.
In June, 1968, a planning meeting was held at the home of Elaine Grev. A spark of interest by everyone seemed to turn every plan into a huge success. The momentum was rolling: the results of the questionnaires sent out were reviewed; Bobbie Burk was the newly elected Pi Province President; and the chapter was finally taking shape. Summer, 1968 was to be remembered by all as the turning point of the Columbia Alumnae-Patroness Chapter. All were excited about the  interest shown.
The first big meeting in 1968 was at the home of Martha Keys on Sept. 23. As a result of the summer 1968 work, it was a huge success. A large turn-out elected officers: President - Elaine Grev; Vice President - Martha Ward; Membership Chairman - Gloria Bradley; Secretary-Treasurer - Grace Louise Baker; Social Chairman - Martha Keys; Historian - Sandra Rosengren, to be assisted by Mary Roebuck and  Mary Lynn Tuck.
