Formally established on 31st Oct 2004, Sahyadri Explorers, has its genesis during the period of 2002-03, when few students from Department of Physics, Pune university started rambling among the attractive valleys of Sahyadri, while persuing their degree of M.Sc.. Being avid fan of nature/forts/lakes students continue their activities and upto the end of 2004 they decided to lauch this portal and as a formality they chose the name : "Sahyadri Explorers".
What does this logo mean?
Well, it means a lot. "<|>" this is advanced notation used in Quantum Mechanics (one of the abstrus branch of physics). It is known as 'Dirac's Bra-Ket'.
It quantum mechanics we usually come across such statements :
< m | n >
which essentially describes the relation between the functions (more precisely "wavefunction") "m" and "n".
We use the same notation. Left side of Bra-Ket in our logo is a tree, which symbolizes the nature, and right side containes a greek letter (pronounced as "psi"; which often enters in qunatum mechanics as some "wavefunction"); which symbolizes physics. So all in all this logo underlines our passion of amalgamating physics and nature.
