Lohgad is a beautiful fort near village Malavali on Pune-Mumbai express highway. The great thing about this fort is it is easily acessible which makes it our favourite spot for night trecking. You can reach Malavali village easily by catching Pune-Lonavala local. The fare is about 15 Rs. only. From Malavali station you will have to cross express highway using overbridge and keep walking about 6 Km. to reach base of the fort. It takes about one and half hour. From there climb the stairs to reach Ganesh Darwaja.

The fort is spread over about 30 Acres of land and have monuments. Also water storage tanks.

On the way you will find paddy fields, lots of Crabs during rainy season, shrubs, and Pangara trees. You can visit Lohgad during any time in year but if you like to see greenery and water falls best months are Augest and September.
