Timothy DORGAN (died aboard "Jersey" Oct 1781). He had a son
named Andrew, born NY 1772, who in turn had a son named Andrew who died in Mobile,AL 1857.
I believe it was Timothy (b. c. 1740 in Whitewell, CO. Cork, Ireland) who was the
Revolutionary War prisoner, unless of course, he had a brother named Andrew who
experienced the same.
Andrew Dorgan was taken prisoner by Hessian soldiers in 1780.He was imprisoned on British
prison ship Jersey and died after one year of confinement. He was buried in a War Memorial
Cemetery in Brooklyn.
