Recruit Training Grounds
Early morning overlooking Doomcloud Keep
Evil Uprising has dedicated their training grounds to etiquette in DC. While evil is by nature an unbridled fury it is necessary for us to portray in the very least a civilized culture. By following these few guidelines you will not bring dishonor to our clan's name. Should you choose not to follow these rules or ignore the stated guidelines then you speak on your own. We as clan will not condone such violations and will treat such as independant actions. For side training on in game survival, a book from the Library of Ages is located below that can be read for braving the harsh environment of Dragon Court.
Some Town Square guidelines
As with all new adventurers there comes a time to venture into the Town Square chat room. This can be a perilous place to those unprepared for it. This section is a few tips for those who are willing to learn.
-When in Town Square (TS) most people are there to role-play (RP) or talk about Dragon Court (DC). Keeping non-related subjects out of it improves the quality of the chat. While talking out of character (OOC) is sometimes unavoidable it greatly enhances your playability to avoid it
-Wanting the attention of everyone in the room will not happen so do not attempt it. Making outlandish threats and butting into discussions will only make you look bad. Nobody wants to interact with a brash idiot.
-As everyone wants to share his or her characters background and stories with DC, not everyone wants to hear it. Reserve spilling your guts until someone shows interest and asks.
-RP fighting: A common argument in DC. Not everyone in DC agrees on how this should be conducted. As a rule of thumb stray away from super death moves that instantly kill. An RP fight typically involves turn based moves where each person writes down an attempted move or counter move until the spar is resolved. I will put down an example of how a normal fight proceeds.
Example starting with Alucards move
Alucard's move- quickly draws his blade and slices at Sado.
Sado's move- Noticing the attack he shifts to the side dodging the blade, as he conjures a fireball and and throws it at Alucard.
Alucards move- Alucard being at the disadvantage gets hit in the hand by the fireball and drops his sword. Recovering quickly he follows through with a side kick towards Sados head.
Sado's move- Sado is knocked down by the kick and slowly fades into unconsiousness
As you can see it is a lot like a story. I have made it a point to show a few things in this example. Taking hits in battle is a must, nobody wants to fight an invincible character. It does not mean you have to die it simply means allow your opponent the chance to have some successes. Wounds can be healed so take a few hits here and there. Another point demonstrated is one on Magic. As Im sure every mage, dragon, or paladin has a multitude of death spells, they will not result in victory. Choose your attacks wisely and allow opponent an opening to recover or counter. Let the turn of events as you go along determine who is the winner or even work out the ending with your sparring partner. If you do this, your RP battle will be more enjoyable and avoid drawing bad attention your way.
-Spamming and socials: No one in TS likes annoying and bothersome people. Using socials and slapping repeatedly or writing spam messages should not be done. If you have nothing to contribute to the RPing then stay out of it.
Some Forum posting guidelines
Everyone in DC wants to be heard and the forum is the perfect place to do it. With the forum you are able to post messages for all to read. This can also have its share of problems.
-Out of character (OOC)posts: As sometimes the person behind the character comes out it is important to keep the subject on DC. Im sure the latest song or newest movie is interesting but forum space is limited and should not be filled with such things unless necessary.
-Spamming: Once again this vicious beast rears its ugly head. Refrain from it and your respect in DC will not be tarnished.
-Clan recruitment posts: These are an unwanted post in all of the forums except the Clan Hall. As Fred has designed that forum specifically for that purpose, they have no place anywhere else. Recruiting this way only makes the recruiter look bad and seem desperate for new members. Keep these posts out of any of the other forums.
NPC survival
After learning about ways to interact with the players of DC it is also sometimes useful to know how to survive in the game itself. Here is a reference to use when traveling about. The book is derived from previous encounters by explorers from the Uprising. It is a summary of the creatures who are wild and have no preference who they attack.
