Formerly standing for Inner City Posse, ICP got their start by releasing their first two albums, Basement Cuts and Dog Beats. Inner City Posse was actually a group of kids from southwest Detroit who were posing as hard core gangsters. Wannabes if you will. It was about fifteen kids all together, and they would go around stomping other wannabe gangs. However, the success of their first albumbs, Basement Cuts and Dog Beats, caused a negative reaction from local gangs. ICP was then subject to severe gang violence, and many members were forced to leave Detroit.

Shaggy met J when they went to school together. Shaggy was actually a friend of Shaggy's brother. Shaggy was two years younger than them, but would hang around them all the time. Shaggy was always the artist, and whenever the childhood trio went out for fun and games (tagging, stomping neighbor kids, etc.) Shaggz was always the one who would do the artsy shxt. Jay and 2 Dope's bro always watched for cops. Screw that though, back to the bio.

When the local sales of Basement Cuts and Dog Beats skyrocketed, other local gangs lashed out on ICP with severe gang beatings. Many members were forced to leave town---- I'm repeating myself aren't I? Anyways, that left Jay and Shaggz all alone to continue with their rapping. This big rapper in Detroit at the time, Esham, was ICP's idol. They did everything he did (which was a mistake cuz he was only local). Finally, they met Alex Abiss. He helped them get a contract, but told them that they'd never become anything if they tried to get deals with big record labels. They'd have to make their own.

So, they all sat down and decided on what it would be called. In the end, they decided to call it Psychopathic Records, and Shaggz, being the artist of the two, drew the hatchet man right then and there. They agreed upon releasing 6 Jokers Cards, each one revealing a lesson about yourself.

From then on, they worked hard with Alex Abiss (manager) and Mike E. Clark (who does background effects and musik) to do their darndest.

When they released The Great Milenko, it was supposed to be a big album that would score them big. And it did! When going on the Milenko Tour, Jay had a panic attack on stage and was flippin' out (wasn't able to function properly). So they canceled the show.

Then, when Jay was playing video games with his brother (also during the tour) he had another panic attack and cut out all of his hair. His brother took him to the hospital and he was checked into the psychatric ward for two days.
