Tim, thanks for a really fun evening!!!

I think that the host is the toughest critic, and as such, doesn't have the same perspective as the guests.  I had a very good time and it was clear that Tim knocked himself out with several improvements and spared no effort to give us all a great racing experience.

I arrived to see cooling mist permeating the entrance to Tim's garage and spacious pit facilities.  The track crews must have been working night and day to transform Lumberyard into a dead ringer for Lowes Motor Speedway.  There was even a checkered flag apron around the track with a white glow (Christmas lights).  The last race was run without a power relay due to a technical problem and the relay issue still has not been solved.  However, Tim had enabled the voice capability of his race management program and that worked really well.  As a strong proponent of power relays for club races (they rank right up there next to power), I was very happy with the voice ready and start signals (much better than trying to follow screen colors).  I found it much easier to have the voice assist at this race.  Another significant technical (and cosmetic) improvement was installing reed switches.  The lighting was much improved despite my cl owning around with the Petzel (think of it as a modern day LED minor's light).

I was so fun to have Todd "I never want to run Tycos again" Hinton join us for this race.  I think that all the chatter about Tyco NASCAR finally got to him and Todd decided to come out and see what all the fuss was about.  Todd was elaborate in his praise for the track and what Tim had accomplished.  Todd ran Tycos "back in the day" when the were state of the art.  He was happy with the cars that came after the Tyco and never looked back (and never wanted to look back).  But there is racing in his blood and NASCAR on any scale is hard to resist (for those of you who don't know, Todd was a member of a 1:1 NASCAR pit crew).  Judging from the smile on his face, he likes this NASCAR oval class.

Tim may want to wait to offer the racing details but I won't keep you in suspense about who won the race and the series.  Congratulations to Tim Lang on a very impressive and convincing victory!  I came in second and wasn't even close.  The series results were also tallied and Tim came in first, followed by Paul in second and me in third.  Geno wasn't on hand to contend for the point series lead (Geno won the first race)...we really missed you Geno!!!

Many thanks to Paul for taking us all to school last race with his mega-scooper body that moved crashed cars out of the way.  I have made it my mission to learn to lower bodies (six and counting) and was able to return the favor a couple of times when Paul was in my lane.  Paul contributed quite a service to the club when he showed that only lowered bodies need apply.  Last night, all of the bodies were lowered and SacHO took another step forward in its Tyco NASCAR development.

Danny was the first to arrive and had lowered his Mellow Yellow body.  This was too dark to see with track lighting and he made a switch just before race time to a lowered Pontiac G.P. car that was metalic red.  Danny is already reknown for his lexan body painting and can probably be expected to produce something flashy and florescent should he start painting custom Tyco bodies.

Thanks all!

Got to run!
