Thanks guys for a really fun club stock & super stock finale! Be sure to mark your calendars for the season finale on June 16th at Tim's place. Remember that the date has been changed from the second (June 9th) to the third Friday (June 16th).
"Hot" is the word that comes to mind to describe last night's race...it was just plan hot out! But the temperature was not the only heat at RCR as Mike Leech burned up the track to sweep 1st place in club stock and super stock. You may have noticed that Mike raised the bar significantly in heat totals. In five of the eight heats for the two events, Mike made 45 or more laps. He also got at least 40 laps in seven out of eight heats. Well done, Mike! There was another broom in Tim's hands as he swept 2nd in both events. Good racing, Tim! Mark & I shared a broom since he was racing for team RCR with Mark placing 3rd in club stock and I placed 3rd in super stock. Stuart carried his own broom with a 4th place sweep. This guy can flat out drive and it was his first time on the Bonzai! Stuart, too bad you don't live closer, it would be fun racing with you on a regular basis. It was a great showing for t eam RCR as Mike, Mark and Stuart all put on quite a show. Afterwards, as Danny, Geno and I were talking about the race, we all wished that we could have been spectators instead of marshaling since this would have been such a fun race to watch.
Watch out for Danny & Geno! They had some technical difficulties with their cars last night but have the summer to regroup. Each put in some time driving my best car (the car Mike drove) and they were sticking to the track like glue and screaming around the course a la Mike. Thanks to some recent discoveries, I think I can replicate this car's performance. Speaking of recent discoveries, did you know that Danny has four NEO's?
Time now to start lowering bodies (sanding). You saw the way Paul kicked our butts last race. There will be no excuses for not learning our lessons and coming back strong.
