CA Slot Car Message Board
Sacramento Race Night Sequence of Events

7:00 pm   Open Track Time
  Practice etiquette:
No more than 10 minutes should be spent on a single lane at one time, ask others to switch lanes, be considerate of newer racers.
When practicing on a lane, if driver leaves his lane for more than 2 minutes he must take his controller with him.
No car will be inspected in any way without permission of car owner.
Sac Race Night Sequence handout will be given to racers as they arrive.

7:45 pm   Tech inspection and qualifying
  Inspection:
Cars will be equally inspected for rules compliance with driver present. Once car passes inspection it is impounded to prevent further changes until race time.  Drivers not passing tech inspection will correct the violations and resubmit the car for inspection after all other cars have been inspected.  Once all cars pass inspection, the inspector will ask if there are any questions / concerns before the continuing with qualifying and the race.
Qualifying:
Each racer will be given 20 seconds for qualifying beginning in the order the drivers car passed tech inspection.  Racer order is determined according to the fasted lap during qualifying.

8:00 pm   First Race Event  (Club Stock for River City Raceway & Spyder Speedway events)

The race will begin once all racers have qualified and the race order has been entered into the race management system.  As the starting racers are announced, drivers should follow this procedure:
Put controllers on lanes,
Cars will be put on starting line by driver,
Lane sticker applied by driver.
No changes may be made to car until race has begun.
Other cars not beginning first heat will remain in impound. In between heats only active racers may work on their car.

At the end of each HEAT, any irregularity in counting laps will be reported to the race director (e.g., rider condition resulting in extra lap counted).

During the time between each HEAT, drivers should follow this procedure:
Drivers move controllers to the new lane (remove if rotating off)
Drivers move cars to new lane (mark place & remove if rotating off)
Drivers apply new lane sticker

At the end of the RACE, laps count irregularities will be corrected by the race director who will ask if there are any concerns / changes that should be made before printing final results.  Final results will be given to season coordinator for entry into season total spreadsheet.

Marshaling: All that is asked is that you do your best. Show no favoritism, and there will be no penalties for slow reaction time. Guidelines: put first car off back on first in same spot it came off. If another car is thumbed it takes priority over all other cars. Track calls: appropriate only when a car leaves the track, other circumstances as determined at each race due to number of marshals.

Additional races:  Repeat this sequence for each additional race.
