| Cleaning & Lubrication Tips |
| Basic lubrication recommendations are: Labelle 106 lube on the armature contact points and axle contact points, and Labelle 102 grease on the pinion and crown gear. There are a bunch of different types and combinations that are out there. But the Labelle will get you going. This can be found at most hobby shops and model railroad shops. Magnet Car Cleaning: Use electrical cleaner (spray) on armature and electrical parts. A little brasso will clean the comm plate on the armature. Tjet Cleaning: Clean the armature casing and brushes with Breakfree CLP, which can be found at gun and ammo shops. Let dry 24 hours before running. Tire Cleaning: A roll of 2" masking tape will be your friend before a race and in between heats. (Front and rear tires) Pickup Shoes: A dremel with wire brush will clean these right up before a race. |
