Housemate Update

When we spoke to Keiran, hed just come back from Wollongong, where he and Aaron had been helping Pete celebrate his birthday. Keiran was keen to tell us that Aaron has dyed his hair white.

As hed vowed to do, BB2 winner Peter recently returned to his job in IT. This is just what I want to be doing for work, the ever down-to-earth Pete told us. So where did the $250, 000 go? Ive paid off my house and had it renovated. The renovations were finished just last weekend. So thats where all the money has gone.

Brotherly Challenge

PETER Corbett is fast becoming everyone's big brother. He might have won
Big Brother for sister Meg and little brother Tom but Peter's next challenge is finishing The Sunday Telegraph 10km Bridge run to raise
money for sick children. Joined by
Big Brother housemate Turkan Aksoy, Peter is one of the celebrities taking on the charity challenge in the Bridge run on September 15. Peter and Turkan will run for the Make a Wish Foundation, a charity that grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. The average cost of
granting a wish is $10,000. "It's about making a difference and making kids smile," Peter said as he played with four-year-old Paul Abela, who suffers the debilitating haemophygtic syndrome.

Pete's Week

BB: Its been almost a week since you left the house, where/ what have you been up to in that time?
P: Well, I left the house and went straight to the wrap party. I spent the whole time meeting up with the staff. It was a bit weird them knowing Meg as well. Back at the hotel Meg and I talked till I had to go to the radio interviews and then to Dreamworld in the morning with Marty. Neither of us had slept. Then we went down to Melbourne with all the housemates. It was my first real opportunity to see everyone and find out whats been going on. That night we had a Triple MMM dinner and then Rove. I was running on adrenaline. Afterwards, we went back to the hotel to catch up with the guys. I only slept about three hours that night and then I was up at 7am for radio interviews. Afterwards I went to lunch with the other HMs, whove become like best mates. I spent the next two days with Meg and Tom. Friday morning we did the Bert Newtown show. That was unreal Megs his biggest fan. On Friday night we went to Sydney where Marty and I were the guest DJs on Triple M. Im a big music buff and that was a highlight. Saturday we took it easy and then we walked around its been ages since Ive been for a big walk - and had lunch with Keiran and Turkan. Then on to the Castle Hill Tavern on Saturday night, which was great - Id go back there in a second. I am finally home now.

BB: You looked quite overwhelmed on the night of the final eviction show, have you relaxed around the media and public attention now?
P: Took me about a day, probably till Wednesday morning to come to relax about it. It took a while for me to realise people know who I am. It was weird getting out of the house with so few people and then seeing a thousand people. I was very overwhelmed and on a huge high to see family again.

BB: How do you feel about the general public's reaction to you?
P: Its been incredible I thought theyd be throwing rocks or tomatoes at me. People have just been approaching me and congratulating me. I cant expect any more than that. I think thats Australia for you.

BB: What has been the experience of meeting up with family and friends now that you are home?
P: I havent really had a chance to catch up with my friends. I met up with Megs new boyfriend, Brad, whose kid is very sick with Meningococcal. As soon as I got back I visited the hospital where he is and stayed there for two hours. Meg met Brad whilst I was in the house. Meg wrote me a letter in the house saying Brad says hi. I didnt know who Brad was. Now Ive met him, Brad is a top guy - hes been looking after Meg and Tom since I left.

BB: What is your favourite experience since leaving the house?
P: Probably the Triple M DJ thing. I really missed music in the house and it was great to catch up on the music. Plus spending time with Meg and Tom. Theres just been too many great moments. The last week has been an incredible dream.

BB: Any low moments?
P: Finding out about Harrison (Brads son) but hes fine now and hes beautiful.

BB: What did you personally get out of the BB experience?
P: I dont know yet. Im just taking things as they come. But, being down at Wollongong has helped ground me

BB: What do you anticipate might come of the experience, career-wise?
P: Havent thought about it. As far as I know Im sticking to what I was doing before.

BB: What do you plan to spend your winnings on?
P: Just a mortgage at this stage. I havent thought about anything other than that.

BB: What advice do you have for the celeb BB HMs?
P: Have fun and have a ball because its incredible. Oh and dont get too drunk!

Interest Wanes As Big Brother Gets Predictable

But, hold on! What have I been watching? Is this Big Brother II or a replay of last year's original series? Peter, the inoffensive, wholesome, decent, gentle and, some would say, boring bloke, who has kept his head down throughout the series, has ended up with the money. Just like Ben Williams in 2001. And Marty, the playful one who had seemed to be the audience favourite, has come second. Just like Blair McDonough last year.

Pete Tells All

How much time have you been able to spend with Meg and Tom, and by the way that little brother of yours has got women all over Aus and NZ more than halfway in love - you and Meg have done a great job! I spent all night with Meg and Tom. I spent most of the night at the party with Tom, watching him get autographs and kisses, and I was up till all hours of the morning talking to Meg, so I've had a good night with them. They're actually coming down to Melbourne tomorrow - I'll be down here for a couple of days.

The question everyone is asking is, what did Meg whisper to you last night after you came on Stage!
She said, "I love you and I'm proud of you, mate".

After your big night last night... did you get a chance to catch up with Turkan?
I caught up with her and had a good chat about what's been going on. I think she's an incredible woman with an incredible smile and great friends, and will surely be in my life for many years to come.

When you went into the house at first, which housemates did you think would be the final three?
Marty, definitely. Shannon and... that's the first time I've been asked this question... The third one, I would say Alex.

Do you think that there will be a romantic future between yourself and Turkan?
Like I said, she's an incredible woman, but right now, I just want to concentrate on my family.

The Attack of the Clones Award:
To finalists Marty, the spunk, and Peter, the drone, for emulating the final days of last year's series. Do the names Ben and Blair spring to mind?

De ja vu - Pete's The Winner!

He's dealt with the death of his parents and his problems with anger, but finally, Pete has some good news to spread around. He's the winner of BB2.

From the beginning, Pete was confident that he would make it to the final three. Tonight, he exceeded even his own expectations when the boy from the Gong walked out of the big wooden doors the winner of Big Brother 2 and $250,000 richer.

Pete was a solid housemate, often likened to last years BB winner, Ben Williams. He was a deep thinker and a steady companion to all the housemates. But he was often criticised for being boring and having become an invisible housemate. In fact, when the housemates made their 40-Hour Famine ad, they actually forgot to get Pete out of bed, not realising he was even missing.

Big Brother's last surprise to Peter was letting Tom into the BB House 5 mins before leaving.

There wasn't a similar "wow" vibe with this years housemates towards the winner of BB - Peter. Peter got a BIG kiss from Turkan. And Nathan, Jess, Sahra and Marty all gave him a BIG hug! The other housemates were pretty low key.

"What do I do?!" - Peter when meeting the crowd on stage!

- Pete says his favourite vampire movies are 'Blade' followed by 'Interview with a Vampire' then 'Lost Boys'. He also likes 'From Dusk Till Dawn' and 'Queen of the Damned'.

- Pete said he'd like to sleep with Charlize Theron.

- Pete reveals he's a "redhead man".

- Pete has pet turtles.
