| 1 July 2002 The Money's On Marty By Kathryn Torpy EIGHTY-five days after 12 strangers entered a human fishbowl at Dreamworld just two remain. Tonight either West Australian farmer Marty or Wollongong information technology worker Peter will be pronounced $250,000 richer. Their fate rests with the viewing public. One of the pair - the final two contestants on Channel 10's second Big Brother reality game, which sees a group of people locked in a house and monitored by cameras 24 hours a day -- will be voted out of the Gold Coast house by a national telephone poll. The field was narrowed last night when the third finalist, Sydney investment consultant Sahra Kearney, was voted from the house. Alice Springs-based betting agency Centrebet had tipped Kearney, a part-time body piercer, as the one to go. Last night, the agency had Nathan "Marty" Martin, a 20-year-old farmer from Toodyay, near Perth, at the winning odds of $1.60. Peter was trailing at $2. Big Brother ends tonight but on July 21, Ten will begin airing a celebrity version. Eight well-known Australians will enter the house and stay for up to two weeks. Article from Courier-Mail |
