Trained and ready to respond at a moment�s notice these unheralded people can set up an evacuation centre, register victims, provide first aid, deliver meals or simply offer a cup of tea and emotional support, no questions asked. �It�s incredible when you consider that last year 9000 Australian Red Cross Emergency Services volunteers in suburbs and towns across the country assisted 22,500 people whose lives were touched by emergency or disaster. These women and men are true heroes and their contribution is absolutely vital. �So when an unpaid volunteer Red Cross Calling collector asks you to make a donation during March, please give as much as you can.
