Algebra 1 Slope

Alright today were going to learn slope form from Algebra 1. Basically using y-y1=m(x-x2). There are many ways to doing this but i find this the easiest but I'll show these later. Point slope form you can find the slope on a graph and plot the points. For example: with these points (2,1) (4,3) now I'll take you step by step to solve this problem. Step 1: Find the slope. M=y2-y1/x2-x1 This is slope form. M=3-1/4-2=2/2=1 The 3 is y2 and the 1 is y1, now x2 is 4 and x1 is 2 now subtract. The answer is 2/2 which equals one Y-y1=m(x-x1) Now we use slope intercept form to figure out the graphing point. x1,y1 y-1=1(x-2) Pick two points ex: (2,1) and enter them in slope intercept form. y-1=x-2 Combine the 1 and the X to get 1X or X. -2 stays the same because 1 * -2 equals -2. y=x-1 Now to get this answer you must add the 1 to the negative 2 to get negative 1 Y=X-1 Is now your answer Step 2: Graphing. To graph it you need to know positive, negative, and no slope Ok here's positive slope it's in cline goes to the right corner Now negative slope See how the line goes to the bottom right Now zero slope See it's nothing but a straight line from side to side Step 3: Plotting To plot on a graph you must have to points such as (2,-3) EX: first you would have to go to the left 2(x) and down -3(y) Like so. Thats all there is to know on Slope 1
