Monday thru Friday morning schedule

9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. – Set up playroom for babies and mummies rooms for mummies

 

10:00 – 10:45 a.m. – Pick up babies and mummies on bus

 

10:45 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. – Babies free play in playroom (Mummies go to mummies room and do not return until it is time to go home)

 

11:00 a.m. – Snack time

Wash hands, get a seat (or highchair), sing snack time song, eat apples, bananas & toast.  Yummy!

 

11:05 –11:10 a.m. – Finish snack, wash hands

 

11:15 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. – Split – usually older children go down into physical room to play on slide, crawling tunnels, and other pieces of equipment.  Babies are then allowed out of the baby corner and can safely wander about the playroom.

 

11:30 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. – Switch.  Babies go downstairs for a play and the older children are back up

to the playroom.  At this time, we may do sand or water. 

 

11:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Everyone back together for free play.  This is a time when we might do

songs or a group game.

 

12:00 p.m. – Lunch.

Tidy up toys, wash hands, grab a seat, sing lunchtime song, put on our bibs and have some lunch. 

 

12:10 p.m. – As children finish lunch, they take their bowls and cups up to the hatch, take off their bibs and wash their hands.

 

12:15 p.m. – All children have free play as one of the female staff starts changing nappies (diapers).

 

12:30 p.m. – Once nappies are changed, we get our coats on and get ready to go for a walk. 

 

12:35 – 12:55 p.m. – Walk on our mountain.  Babies in prams.  Walkers with hands on prams. 

 

12:55 – 1:15 – Outside play. 

We get the play cars out, and other outside toys as the children have free play until the mummies come out.  Usually, we end the session with bubbles.

 

 

When the mummies are finished, we take them and the babies back home on our buses.  Usually, one member of staff will stay behind to clean up.  We get back from the bus run about 2:00 and have our break from 2:00 – 2:30.  At 2:30, we meet and talk about the morning and then discuss the afternoon session (if it is a T, W, or Th).  On these days, we have after school groups coming up to the cottage. 

 

After Schools

Tuesday	5 to 7 year olds	4:00 pm. – 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday	11 to 15 year olds	5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Thursday	8 to 10 year olds	4:00 p.m. – 5:30 pm

 

We meet until 3:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at which point we leave to pick up our groups.  On Wednesdays we have a longer meeting which involves planning for the coming week.  We leave at 4:00 p.m. to pick up after schools on that day.  On Mondays, we leave after the meeting.  On Fridays we do weekly cleaning.

 

There is a new group meeting on Monday nights for 13 years and up, but 13 – 15 year olds are still welcome on Wednesday if they prefer.  The volunteers do not work with the Monday night group.  It is run by Louise and John, both paid staff.
