Airsofts are basically 1:1 scale replicas of weapons. They fire plastic bb pellets. There are three types of airsofts and they are differentiated by the way they propel the pellets: Springers, AEGs and GBBs. Springers are the cheapest. These use a spring to fire the pellets. They are single shot and they don't have as much details as the other types. AEG stands for Automatic Electric Guns. They are powered by rechargeable batteries and look more authentic. The third one, GBB stands for Gas Blow Back. These are powered by...gas. Similar to AEGs, they look very authentic and to some extent they even mimic the actions of the real thing. Specially in pistols. Click on the thumbnails to view the pictures. Click your browser's 'back' button to return to this page. |
CAW M79 This is a GBB airsoft and it uses a Mosquito Mold M79 grenade (similar to the ANG grenade) I plan to use this for a Vietnam impression but after reading two references, it looks like I can use this for modern Rangers or SEAL snipers impressions too. Very nice looking airsoft. It has a combination of wood, metal and plastic parts. |
TM M16A1 & SP M203 The M16A1 is an AEG while the M203 is a GBB. This was one of the first airsoft combinations I wanted to get. After reading Bravo Two Zero, I just had to get an M16A1/M203 for my SAS impression. I could use this for various impressions too! From Vietnam to Somalia. I managed to get one with the markings intact. Heres the original M16A1 straight out of the box. And heres how it looks with the Sun Project M203! I even attached a real M203 sight! Ready to rock and roll Here's the SP M203 and the sight. I plan to use this on an M4 later. Here's a closeup of the real M203 sight. And a closeup of the markings. |
ICS MP5A3 This MP5A3 is an AEG and it came with a metal body. I was disappointed when I got this because it didnt have the rear sling loop. Nevertheless, I went ahead and upgraded some body parts. I have replaced the plastic cocking tube, front site and muzzle with metal parts. I bought the Classic Army kit, but I wasnt impressed with the PDW flash hider. I got a spare metal MP5 muzzle with a thread so I can attach the silencer. Another one of HKs cool designs. I first saw these in the movie Who Dares Wins, a movie portrayal of Operation Nimrod. Heres the MP5 straight from the box plus a sling. Now with the mock silencer and red dot scope. Navy SEAL configuration. I added a metal PDW flash hider and a red dot scope. In this configuration, I have replaced the foregrip with one that has a laser pointer included. Another view with the laser pointer and PDW flash hider. and red dot scope. Retracted stock. Looks cool, huh? |
