Note about our Dreambook:
This is my kid's site and as their Mother, I reserve the right to delete your entry for any reason whatsoever.
So if it's negativity that you are sharing, or maybe a preaching session...don't even waste your time.

Salutations! I'm MooneDreamer. This site was built for my 3 cool (and increasingly interesting) daughters.
While I generally agree with school choice, our choice is to Homeschool Independently (with little to no government strings). If you specifically want to know what method we use, you could best sum it up as UNSCHOOLING. We feel all children are born with a thirst for knowledge and education can't be summed up in any book, nor absorbed BEST {at least for our kids} in any classroom or forced learning environment. When children are given the opportunity, they will seek out information and knowledge most proficiently. Unfortunately many of us forget, learning is an unavoidable natural process of life. Parents want the best for their kids, but in the attempt to push their children to learn, many times they will extinguish their natural drive to seek out information, which can severely effect their self esteem, and learning then becomes an unwanted task, rather then a fruitful quest. This can also cause undue stress on the family as a whole. Therefore, to put it simply, we live and learn together. We find abundant learning occurs in a relaxed atmosphere, and by incorporating THEIR interests (our motto is "Gnothi Seauton" or "Know Thyself"), there is less resistance, and learning becomes fun and enjoyable for alll of us. Definition of Tolerance:
"Authoritarian systems practice the opposite of tolerance, intolerance. Tolerance is seen as a more widely acceptable term than
"acceptance" and particularly "respect," where the application to controversial parties is concerned. Tolerance implies both the
ability to punish and the conscious decision not to. It is usually applied to non-violent, consensual behavior, often involving religion,
sex, or politics. It rarely permits violent behavior." |
