Mortal (supposedly). Armin Velderra, the Chief of the Maiden Newton Police Department, was transferred from Shropshire to take over the city�s precinct, after a horrendous blood bath resulted in every police officer in the city being killed. Velderra has taken the job of cleaning up the city very seriously indeed, and has instigated the new motto for the MNPD: �No Mercy For Criminals�. So far, however, he has not had a huge effect on the crime rate of the city.
Disturbingly, however, Velderra�s efforts have been concentrated quite frequently on the havens and areas of influence that are linked with the Cainites of the Maiden Newton Temple. Velderra himself appears to be perfectly normal and human, but it may just be that he knows more than he should � or that he is someone�s pawn.
Velderra's efforts have suddenly become even more concerning, with his sudden concentration on certain members of the Temple, in particular Tomsk Lesteran, who is wanted in connection with the murder of a police officer, the abduction of a critcially ill |

baby girl, and the murder of the girl's father, Andrew Spearman. Lesteran has subsequently become the target of a nationwide manhunt, after being charged with Murder One, escaping prison, and killing a second police office. Velderra is also pursuing Lesteran's supposed accomplicie, politician Eliza Kendall, who is also wanted in connection with the latter two crimes. Velderra has issued a public statement, declaring that he "will not rest until these monsters are brought to justice."
However, since more attacks by members of the Temple, including one final blow which resulted in the annihilation of both the Police Headquarters and the Police Force itself, Velderra has responded by declaring a citywide curfew (as a result of the recent and evestating "terrorist" attacks), and demanding that Police reinforcements be sent in from neighbouring cities. He also sent a SWAT team into the Temple, to 'request' the Sabbat cease their terrorist activity. They attempted to persuade the Temple using M-16's. It is now clear, at the very least, that Velderra is aware of exactly who and what the Maiden Newton Cainites are... |
