| Faade and Background: There are a great many Nephilim who choose not to belong to any particular Faction, and who instead settle down to their own existence in the towns and cities of the Humans. Some, however, go a step further, and join the extremely loosely-organised ranks of the Nomads. These Nephilim are solitary creatures, who have no fixed home, and simply wander the World, in and out of the Seven Kingdoms and all that lies between. There are an infinite number of reasons that might cause a Nephilim to become a Nomad, from revulsion to curiosity to a simple desire for solitude. Many Nephilim are Nomads right from their birthing, others simply choose to become one for a while, and still others are forced into it due to varying circumstances. It is quite common for Nephilim to become a Nomad for a while, then settle down again, or for Nephilim of other Factions to simply take some time out for a while. Regardless of what has put them onto the Nomadic road, Nomads can often recognise each other for what they are, and will spend short periods of time sharing knowledge and stories of their travels. Some will even journey together for a while; however, due to their nature and preference, such companionships rarely last for long before the two (or more) Nomads go their separate ways once again. The Nomads have no leadership, no organisation, no enemies and no allies, no common goals, and no domain. Quite simply, they are each a culture unto themselves, dealing with whatever life presents them with, occasionally seeking employment to pay for their provisions when in civilised areas, but otherwise taking sustenance from what the wilderness provides. Reality: The Nomads are what often results in a Nephilim being expelled or ostracised from any area, or one (or more) of the Seven Kingdoms, or Nephilim Factions; consequently there are significantly more Notorious Nomads than Renowned Nomads. For whatever reason a Nephilim becomes a Nomad, they are usually feared or reviled even more so than other Nephilim, by both Humans and their own kin. Character Creation Guidelines: Obviously the Nature: Loner is quite appropriate, but this is by no means not the only choice. While a Nomad, a Nephilim cannot claim any Circle, Citizenship, Fellowship (to any Faction other than the Nomads) or Patron. Most Nomads favour Aptitudes that are useful to their travels, such as Survival, Endurance, Milieu, Proeliatory and Elementalism. A Nomad can follow any Code of Ethics. |
