| Ruler: King Malthos [Moll-toss] Astonwane, III Geography: The Emerald Kingdom is the largest and most dominant of all the Seven Kingdoms, and always has been. It is also the most affluent and the most cosmopolitan of all the Kingdoms. Every single Human Guild has a major base somewhere in the Emerald Kingdom, and most of the Nephilim Factions have large presences - now all forcibly secret - among the sians. The Emerald Kingdom is also very varied when it comes to the landscape; almost all types of landscape can be found there, from the jungles of Sredn, to the mountain ranges of Chin, to the desert expanse of Monglia. Across all of this can be found hundreds of cities and thousands of towns, but none so spectacular as Tsheng-haii, the largest city in the World. Legend speaks of Tsheng-haii once being the seat of power for Wden, the King of the Gods, and it is rare for any sian to try to dissuade such rumours. The Great Arch, which gives the Emerald Kingdom its banner, is a sight that can define a lifetime. It marks the main entrance to Tsheng-haii, and has stood there since before memory or written record. Tsheng-haii itself is a marvel to behold, estimated to be the work of more than forty centuries of design and labour, and still the development of the city continues, overseen by a council called The Tsheng-haii Project. Tsheng-haii also boasts the great Arena, in which the World's only legally sanctioned combat-based sports fought by both Humans and Nephilim (sometimes against each other) was once hosted. The Arena was built in 1941 at the behest of King Malthos Astonwane, II, the father of the current ruler. Being the largest and most cosmopolitan of all the Kingdoms, law in the Emerald Kingdom is very tight, and the sian Militia is able to deal with crime swiftly and efficiently. Even so, compared to the Woodland Kingdom, crime and evil is rife in the Emerald Kingdom, but then again, compared to the Dark Kingdom, the sians are law-abiding and peaceful; it's all relative. |

| Peoples: Until recently, although being a predominantly a Human realm, the Emerald Kingdom had its fair share of Nephilim, though less than in other realms such as the Crimson and Savage Kingdoms. The sians were tolerant of their Nephilim neighbours, but due to recent events the situation has changed dramatically - see below. As previously mentioned, every Guild and every Faction has a presence in the city, most of them in fact in Tsheng-haii itself; Nephilim Factions have of course now been driven underground. The city also houses the Latin University, which is the primary residence of the latinus scholari, and is a magnificent sight to behold, almost rivalling the Emerald Kingdom Palace - whispered to not only have been the Palace of Wden, but also the actual resting place of the Ancient One; indeed, it is rumoured that his mortal remains lay resting in hidden catacombs deep beneath the bowels of the Palace. Nobody had ever looked for them for fear of Wden's wrath. To the north of the Kingdom lies Sredn, a large jungle expanse, in which the tribal Srednns live. They are mostly undisturbed by the rest of the sians, although recently King Malthos, III has been encroaching urban territories into the jungles. Politics: Some say that the six unmarked metal discs that hang beneath the Great Arch represent the remaining six Kingdoms, and that the structure is a symbol of defiance, clearly showing the dominance of the Emerald Kingdom and the inferiority of the others. Such conjecture normally comes only from troublemakers, but it does set the precedent for the Emerald Kingdom. Regardless of whether they admit it or not, the sians consider themselves as superior to natives of the other Kingdoms, and this attitude has on many occasions almost led to conflict, and even threatened a new era of Kingdom Wars. It was the Emerald Kingdom that was the last and most difficult to reach an agreement with when the Prophets of Wisdom brought peace, and many of the other Kingdoms - particularly the Golden Kingdom, which lost out slightly on some territory as a result of the peace, resent the power and affluence, and above all else the arrogance, of the Emerald Kingdom. Still, things seem to remain balanced for the most part, and peace continues. Such peace is however now threatened, with the recent murders of Prince Cffer, heir to the throne, General Lin, Commander of the sian Militia, and Queen Mai-Fi, all at the hands of a new movement calling itself the Nephilim Supremacy Front, has caused a declaration of war against all Nephilim who choose to remain in the Emerald Kingdom, sanctioning Humans to kill any on sight. Such extreme measures is bound to plunge the Kingdom into truly terrible conflict. |
