Some keys to a successful Conquer life...
As you do anything in life you pick up little things along the way that make your life easier, some people call them "tricks of the trade". Theses little gems of knowledge would be useful to everyone if the person who knew the secrets would simply share them. Well this is my attempt at sharing what secrets and tricks I have learned in this game. So enjoy, and I hope you find something useful here.

Making friends...
Through my many experiences in the game I have met many people. Some people you can tell right away they are nice or you will want to talk to them again, while others will immediately rub you the wrong way. In both situations I have learned a few things. 1) Not everyone you meet that seems nice is nice, 2) Not everyone you dislike at first is not worth a second chance. Many times I have come across people who come on really strong and they seem genuine the first time I meet them. Then within a few interesting minutes of conversation they ask me to make friends with them, which I will typically accept. But very often I either never talk to them again, or they turn out to be needy, neurotic, troublemakers who don't know how to keep themselves from getting pked. It doesn't take me long to figure out that I really should have never made friends with them to begin with and saved myself a lot of hassle.
So how can you tell the good apples from the bad? Well the philosophy that I have adapted over the months is simply this. If I can have two to three decent conversations with a particular individual then I will consider adding that person to my friends list. This may seem petty, but I feel that a few really good reliable friends is worth far more than a list full of flaky characters who can't earn respect from anyone to save their life.
Something I would like to mention here is that if you want to stay on someone's friends list then don't chit chat on the friends channel unless you have an announcment to make. There is not much more irritating to me than trying to have a conversation with someone in whisper while my screen fills up with a one-sided conversation I have nothing to do with. If you ask in friends channel who is on and someone replies, then you should immediately switch to whisper with that person because that is the polite thing to do. Nothing will get you booted off my friends list faster than non-stop chatting with someone besides me. There is an option to turn off your friends chat, but if you do that then you can't see if someone really needs help.
The last thing I want to mention here is related more to joining guilds than making friends, but typically the two go hand-in-hand. One act usually begets the other in either order. Just make sure that when you join a guild you do it knowing what the guild is about. There are a lot of guilds on every server and not every guild follows the same rules. What might be perfectly acceptable in one guild may get you booted without explanation in another. Know your goals for the character you are playing and join a guild that will help you achieve those goals. For instance if you want to be a pker, then don't join a guild that likes its peace and quiet. You will just waste your time and theirs.
How do I upgrade my equipment?
Leveling your equipment is fairly easiy once you understand what you are trying to do. It took me a long time before I finally figured out I was wasting time and money doing things the wrong way. You need meteors to upgrade the level equipment and you need dragonballs to upgrade the quality of your equipment. There are two ways to level your gear: 1) Artisan Wind in Twin City, and 2) Magic Artisan in the Market. Artisan Wind will take one meteor at a time and "try" to level your gear. By try it means that he can fail, and you will essentially waste a meteor. Magic Artisan on the other hand will take a certain number of meteors at once, but he never fails.
So the question is simply this, do you feel lucky? Or so it would seem this is the question. It is actually far more complicated than that. The goal of upgrading your gear is to get it to the next level or quality using the fewest meteors or dragonballs as possible. So where you do your upgrading can determine just how many of those precious items you need to consume. Typically if your equipment is under level 70 Artisan Wind is the best place to go because he doesnt fail very often, but after level 70 you are definately not guaranteed success. The quality of your equipment makes a difference as well. The higher the quality of the item the higher the chance it will fail at Artisan Wind. There is a pretty simple guideline for determining what your chances of success are at Artisan Wind and it is: Take the number of meteors or dragonballs that Magic Artisan requires to upgrade your item and divide it into one. Example: Magic Artisan requires six meteors to upgrade the level of your weapon, so the chances of success at Artisan Wind is 1/6 or about 17%.
Another consideration for using Artisan Wind is that he offers a slightly better chance of putting the first socket in the item you are trying to upgrade. With this in mind you will hear the term "spamming for sockets". This process is usually done by very high level characters who have meteors to "waste". The process is simple. All you need to do is have 20 or so items of the lowest level (level 1 ring for example) and an equal number of meteors. Then one by one you upgrade the level of each item until you are out of meteors with the hopes that you will get a socket. People spend hundreds and thousands of meteors trying for sockets using this method. Magic Artisan has a slightly higher chance for putting the second socket in an already socketed item, so if you have a socketed ring for example it is best to level it in the market.
The last thing to consider when deciding to upgrade your equipment is whether or not your equipment is actually worth upgrading. I made this mistake and spent way too much money and wasted way too many resources because I was trying to upgrade equipment that wasn't worth the effort. How do you know if your equipment is worth the effort to upgrade? Easy... just do a little math. If the cost to upgrade is more than the cost to purchase the next higher equivalent item then don't bother upgrading it on your own. Save your money and your meteors and simply purchase the item want. You can often find what you are looking for in the market for far less than it would cost to upgrade or make, and you should take advantage of these deals.
To power-level... or not to power-level... that is the question!
What am I supposed to do with these virtue points?
The market and its many uses.
What do I use hotkeys for?
Lots of things! You can put all sorts of things in your hotkeys and make them easily accessible. Most people keep the generic items in there like health and mana potions, arrows, actions, and skills. Each character is different and you will learn which things to put in what hotkeys to make them the most useful. Some other things you can put in hotkeys that most people don't really consider are: meteors, moonbox tokens, scrolls, diamonds, and anything else you want to know how many you have of in your inventory. Putting different moonbox tokens in different hotkeys makes doing that quest infinately easier. The game knows which token is which even if you don't, so this makes it easy to sort them out.

What gems should I put in my sockets?
Are you wondering what gems you should use to get the most out of your training ground time? Well wonder no longer! Check out this Gem Guildline, and you will be good to go no matter how many sockets you have. The red indicates the best combination of Super Rainbow Gems to Super Dragon Gems while the other colors are just there to guide your eyes. Read the guide by looking up the number of Super Dragon Gems on the vertical axis and follow it over to the number of Super Rainbow Gems on the horizontal axis.
