Not many other films were, are and
will be as popular as "Star Wars". Three of four films belong to the hundred
best films of all times, and the fourth is on the best way to get there
too.
The adventures of Luke, Leia and
Han are legends already for a long time! Do you remember? Twenty years
ago the first film "Star Wars" came to the cinemas. Three years later the
second one "The Empire Strikes Back" came and again two years later, the
third one, "Return of the Jedi".
And now, twenty years after the
first film, the fourth movie came, which is actually the first one. It's
the "Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace". Luke, Leia and Han don't exist yet
at all and Anakin Skywalker, the future Darth Vader, is a little boy of
ten years. Obi-Wan Kenobi has only finished his schooling to be a Jedi.
The Emperor is still the Senator Palpatine and no one suspects anything.
The fans of Star Wars awaited the
new film with great expectation. Some of them came true, some didn't. But
I'm sure no one regrets to have watched the movie.
Everybody knows Star Wars, so I
just want to introduce the individual people of the films. The other things
you want to know, you can find in the links at the bottom of this site.
Luke Skywalker
He's a young man of about twenty years
and lived on a planet called Tatooine. When his uncle and aunt died because
of the Empire, Luke decides to join the Rebellion Alliance and become a
Jedi. With the help of Obi-Wan Kenobi he learns to know the Force.
Yoda, a little alien with long
ears, teaches him after the death of Ben Kenobi. But Luke goes away before
his schooling is finished. In a fight with Darth Vader, he loses his right
hand. The doctors replace it with a artificial hand.
After an unfixed time he frees
Leia, Han and Chewbacca out of the hand of Jabba the Hut and shows with
this action the end of his schooling. Nevertheless he goes back again to
the planet where Yoda lives. The little alien is becoming one with the
Force. In his last minute he tells Luke that Darth Vader is his father.
Luke didn't know that Darth Vader was Anakin Skywalker before he turned
his back to the Jedi and became a Sith.
Ben who is still living as a "ghost"
tells him that he's the last hope for the Alliance to destroy the second
Death Star, actually he says Luke is the second last hope. Princess Leia
Organa is his sister and has the same potential of the Force as Luke. They
are twins.
After he gave the confession to
Leia, they win the fight against the Empire and against the Emperor. Vader
dies after having killed "his" Emperor. He dies as Luke's father.
Leia Organa, Princess of
Alderaan
Leia grew up as a Princess on a planet
called Alderaan. She's a leader person in the Alliance. With her strong
will she never gives up. She can survive all the pains of the world, except
the pains of her people.
As a prisoner of the Empire she
is freed by Luke and Han Solo. They return to the Alliance and plan their
attack against their enemy.
She falls in love with Han against
her will. Han is a (former) smuggler and she's a princess but... She
feels something for Luke too but she doesn't know that it's the love for
a brother.
Han Solo
He is the owner of the Millenium Falcon,
the ship which is often compared with rubbish. As a smuggler he often
used the Falcon for transports and the special institutions are more than
once helpful to smuggle people.
He falls in love with Princess
Leia and knows that she loves him too. First they do as if they hated each
other. He makes the first steps and kisses her.
As he is frozen up in carbonite,
Leia rescues him with the help of the droids and Luke.
On Endor he remarks Leia's feelings
for Luke. Jealous he takes Leia to task. She tells him the truth about
her relation with Luke.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Obi-Wan Kenobi is a young Jedi who
takes the duty to school the young Anakin Skywalker.
After thirty or more years he meets
Luke Skywalker, the son of his former student. He wants to teach the young
man although he failed with his father.
But his schooling doesn't last
long. In a quite calm fight with Darth Vader he is killed before the eyes
of the young Luke. But his ghost lives further and can lead Luke to Yoda.
Chewbacca
With his 200 years of age Chewbacca
is probably the oldest creature in Star Wars after Yoda. He's a Wookie
and looks a bit like a big teddybear. But he isn't as harmless as a teddybear.
His roar even shocks little search-droids.
He is the copilot of Han Solo and
can repair everything on the Falcon.
For his master he would do everything
because Han once saved his life. He would even give his own life to save
the one of Han. So he follows his orders to watch over Leia as Han is frozen
up.
