This site is a section from the home page of Sabine Keil, a student at the University of Odense, Denmark. Odense is Hans Christian Andersen's hometown, and Keil dedicated part of her site to the world-famous children's author. The biographical sketch of Andersen details the difficulties of his life and his success as an author. The site provides a list of Hans Christian Andersen's published works.

Hans Christian Andersen Medals

The Hans Christian Andersen Medals award program was established in 1956 to honor leading figures in the world of children's literature. Every two years an award is given to one author and one illustrator in recognition of excellence in children's literature. The site provides both the names of the author and illustrator and the country of their origin. Gianni Rodari was awarded a Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1970. Grimm Brothers' Home Page

A comprehensive site describing the life and works of Jacob Ludwig Carl Grimm (1785-1863) and Wilhelm Carl Grimm (1786-1859). A chronology of the combined events and details of their childhood and adult lives in included in the site. The site provides information about their joint and individual works. It links to electronic text of the tales and legends of the Grimm Tales. This site also gives a list of journals and encyclopedias associated with the folklore genre.

Marvels and Tales: Journal of Fairy Tale Studies

Marvels and Tales: Journal of Fairy Tale Studies is an academic site highlighting the literature and research in the genre of folklore and fairy tales. It provides a summary of current and back issues of the journal, published at Wayne State University. The site's links are selected by relevance to the genre. Folklore and Mythology

The Committee on Degrees in Folklore and Mythology is located at the Barker Center at Harvard University. It was founded at Harvard in 1967 and is the oldest Folklore and Mythology undergraduate degree in the United States. American Folklife Center
