Welcome! On the following pages you will be introduced to Chipollino, the Little Onion Boy, and his family and friends. They are the characters in Gianni Rodari's 1951 book, "Adventures of Chipollino," and sometimes remind us of ourselves. Some portions of this book have been translated from a Russian version. Just click on the "magic key" below to be transported to the Magical Kingdom of fruits and vegetables. Once there, you can scroll up and down the "Meet the Characters" table, choosing any name. (We recommend that you do this in sequence, though, since each character tells something about the next.) To bring these characters to you, we used pictures from books illustrated by the artists E. Galeia, V. Suteev, and B. Doogin. The books were published by the Moscow publisher "Detskaya Kniga" in 1960, 1991 and 1995, respectively. The fairy tale is best viewed with a help of the latest versions of Netscape and Internet Explorer.
