| Welcome to my homepage I am Yak Koon, a Medical Radiation Physicist, specializing in the area of Radiotherapy Physics. The advancement of the present-day medical physics is closely related to the construction and development of diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and the introduction of new medical techniques.The development of these new techniques requires that specialists (i.e. medical physicists and engineers) update their knowledge of the possibilities and effectiveness of the application of the equipment currently available for treating patients, in which medical physics and biomedical engineering play an increasingly important role. Medical imaging and visualization is an important area to develop in the radiotherapy field. In order to provide accurate treatment to the patients, 3D imaging and reconstruction of the images are essential. The development of the conformal radiotherapy and the Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) requires knowledge in 3D imaging and reconstruction.
