| Only For You I Don't Regret Chapter 03: After escorting his new found friend back to her room, Ken headed back to his. When he walked in, he found Ryu sitting on the floor in mediation. "I got to hand it to you buddy, you sure know how to make a first impression. If it was me, I would have opened up a can on the three of em." Ken said flopping on his bed. Ryu opened up his eyes and gave Ken a questioning look. "Why would you open a can for them?" Replied the puzzled Ryu. "It's just a phrase, Ryu. It means to lay the 'whoop' on them." When Ken saw that his life long friend was still unclear on the wording, He corrected himself. "You know, to fight them and beat them up? Boy, for someone who wanders the entire world, you'd think he would pick up on some slang." Ken said exasperated. Ryu only nodded in agreement, while going back into his meditative trance. "You know, that cute little blonde asked if you were single." Ken said with an evil grin on his face. "Please tell me you did not try to play match maker for me again." Ryu replied. "Me? Would I do something like that?" Ken said in a hurt tone. "Yes, I think you would." Ryu said turning to look at him. "Hah! Your probably right." Ken smiled. "But seriously, you had better watch your back out there. Sagat and his two cronies are gunning for you." "Sagat will not do anything outside of the tournament rules to jeopardize his chance for a rematch with me." Ryu replied. "Sagat maybe, but I don't like the looks of those other two. Just remember I got your back. They have to go through me to get you." "I appreciate the offer Ken, just don't do anything that would jeopardize your chance for the title on my behalf." Ryu said thanking him. "Well, I think I am going to turn in for the night. The preliminary matches begin tomorrow." "Good idea." Ken replied. "I want to see what these first stringers have to offer in the way of competition." Ryu rose up from where he was sitting and went over to the other side of the room where his bed was. After settling into his bed, he turned out the light on his side of the room. Ken yawned out loud and turned off his light. Ken stretched his arms behind his head. "Ryu?" he called out. "What?" Ryu replied from across the room. "You know, if I was not engaged, I'd probably go after that little blonde if your not." Ryu groaned. "Go to sleep Ken." ************************************************************************ "So where did you vanish to?" Cammy asked, as Chun li put away her sports bag in the closet. " I went to the gym to work-out a little. Chun li replied. "What's wrong with your eyes? They look puffy and swollen." Cammy said out of curiosity. "Must be something in the air around here that is flaring up my allergies." Chun li lied. "Uh-huh. So are you excited about the start of the matches tomorrow? If what happened in the dinning hall earlier is any indication of what is in store for us, it'll be wild!" Cammy said excited. "I'm not to concerned with those men. I will not let anyone stand in my way to reach the top." Chun li said with determination. "I know we are only first string challengers and all, but what if you make it all the way and end up having to fight that giant man?" Cammy asked. "The Japanese man beat him, so he will not be impossible to defeat." Chun li replied. "Speaking of the Japanese guy and his friend, they were both really cute." Cammy said with a mischievous grin. "The American is engaged which is too bad, but the other is single. And according to Ken he has never had a girlfriend! Said he devotes all his time to training." "So, maybe he just has never met the right girl, huh?" Chun li said sarcastically. "Yeah that is what I was thinking!" Cammy replied. The Chinese woman just rolled her eyes. 'She's just being a girl. She has not had her world turned upside down, let her enjoy the moment." Chun li thought to herself. "We had both better get some rest before tomorrow. They'll be posting up the first pairings for the fights." Chun li said as she went to her side of the room. After several minutes, both female fighters were settled in their respective beds. |
