Chapter 3: Call To Glory
The three fighters where sitting around Ken's living room listening to Ken's plan.
"As i was saying, after Ryu and I left Master Gouken's dojo, we were always on the road much like Ryu is doing to this day." Ken explained.
"I want to be able to do that again for one last time, before i won't be able to do that anymore. My girlfriend Eliza is in Europe with her family for a year, and when she gets back i plan on asking her to marry me."
"YOUR GOING TO GET MARRIED??!!" Dan exclaimed. "Man, what a mistake! You have the car, the money, maybe not my good looks, but the car man! You can have any women you want anytime! Why settle for one? I'll show you how easy it is, can i borrow the car tonight?"
"Dan, it is something you probably will never understand, I love Eliza. That's whom I want to spend the rest of my life with. Ken said. "And NO! For the last time you can't take the Porsche out."
;Dan was grumbling to himself when Ryu spoke up. "Yes those are fond memories Ken. I treasure them above all else. Where do you have in mind to start out at?"
"Well, I was hoping you would have a good idea of where to start from. I can fly us to anywhere you want."
"Before I got your letter, I was thinking about going to Hong Kong, from some of the fighters I have ran across, they heard of some pretty tough fighters there." Ryu said.
"OK! Then we have a destination. Dad wants me to go with him today to some function the Masters Foundation is hosting, but after that we can leave whenever."
"Cool! I always wanted to go to Hong Kong!" Dan said jumping up from the chair.
"They always make alot of fighting movies there. They will obviously see my talent and beg me to do a movie." He said with a big smile.
"Uh, yeah Dan. That COULD happen." Ken said shaking his head. The phone rang just then and Ken answered it. "Ok, on my way down. That's Dad, he is outside in the limo, I gotta go I am late as it is. I'll see you guys tonight."
;After Ken walked out the door, Dan looked at Ryu, "Well, what do you want to do? We can go cruise the town."
"No thank you, the flight was long and I feel like going for a walk and maybe doing a few a little training before I get back on another long flight." Ryu explained.
"Okay, your loss then." Dan said getting up going over to the counter and picking up a set of keys and heading out the door.
Ryu found his way to the beach to the beach that was about a mile away. He walked along the beach, hardly even noticing the hot sand against his bare feet. The Wanderer was surprised at the number of over zealous women there that came up to him and asked if he would like to put lotion on there backs, while giving him a sly gaze. After quickly declining and moving away from the public part of the beach, Ryu found the perfect quiet spot to meditate.
IIt was in the middle of his meditation that he suddenly felt it. A presence of pure evil was near him. "Let the power flow out!" someone said with a sinister voice. "Claim
Your birthright! Others seek to harness your power for there own plans." Ryu's eyes shot open and he quickly scanned the area. No one was there. The presence was gone.... Or maybe not even there to begin with. Ryu held his head low trying to figure out what had just happened. "Maybe it was the jet lag," he thought to himself. "I haven't had a good night's rest in a few days." he tried to convince himself that it was just his imagination.
;It wasn't until late in the day that Ryu finally made his way back to Ken's house. He was about to head up to the door when he saw it fly open and Ken came storming out.
"I can't believe he would be stupid enough to do this!" Ken was shouting.
"What's wrong Ken?" Ryu asked.
"That idiot took my car!" Ken said as he was opening the garage door.
"Go on ahead inside Ryu, I'm gonna take my motorcycle and go look for him. If he so much as puts a scratch on it...." Ken threatened.
Across town...
"Come on baby! Wanna ride with a real man and pick up some chow?" Dan called to the girl who was walking down the street.
"Quit bugging me and get LOST!" she called out from the sidewalk.
;Dan pulled up the car to the curb. "HMMMM", he thought to himself "Why don't any of these chicks want to take a ride with a guy like me?"
"Did I mention I own a condo...OWWWW!" Dan screamed as his left ear was yanked rather hard.
"Shut the car off and get out so I don't have to clean any blood off of my dash board." Ken said between clenched teeth.
"Ken! Hey I was just on my way to wash your car. Honest! I didn't do anything to it. OWW...OWW.... OWWW!" Dan screamed as Ken led him out of the car by his ear.
"Give me one good reason not to kill you right here!" Ken growled as he threw Dan to the street.
"Because of all the witnesses!" Dan screamed as he cowered before Ken.
"They would consider it as self defense" Ken said as he was inspecting his car.
"Ok, I'll let you live awhile longer, only because i am such a nice guy. Now you WILL drive straight back to my place.... UNDERSTOOD?" Glared Ken. "Yes " Dan mumbled.
Dan walked back into the living room holding his head as Ken smacked him."Go sit down and say nothing." Ken ordered. He looked over to Ryu who was looking out of the window.
"You okay?" Ken asked as he walked up behind him.
"Yeah, it's nothing" Ryu answered back.
"Okay, well let's get packed, our flight for Hong Kong leaves in 6 hours."
