The flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu lasted about five hours. We had arrived at LAX at 7:00 AM expecting long lines. However, it only took us twenty minutes to check in. Therefore, we spent two and a half hours waiting for the plane to depart. The flight itself was uneventful. We arrived, on time. Then, we had to make our connection to Maui. Thus, we picked up our luggage (two large duffle bags) and carried them to the far end of the airport. Here we checked in for our flight to Maui.
Because I like to have
plenty of time to make connections we had a lay over of two hours. Finally, we boarded the flight for the
thirty-minute ride to Maui. We landed
in Maui at 5:00 PM Hawaiian time (which is 7:00 PM Pacific). That is right we spent 12 hours to get to
our destination.
We quickly picked up our rental car and headed to our first campsite. Which, I had just found out, thanks to the rental car agent, was a place where the homeless hung out. Great!
