History of
Rye: 3D - The Future
(Continued from the History of Rye: 3D)

I met with the Rye City Planner for the first time in May 2005, a few weeks after my presentation at School. He was very impressed with my work and what I had done at such a young age. He noticed that in my movie, there were actually some details that were inacurate. That is, they don't really exist in Rye's Central Buisness District (CBD). For example, I had pedestrian crossing signals although they don't exist in the CBD. I also had different street signals than are what currently exist in Rye. We agreed that these are things that Rye
should have, but does not. We began meeting every two weeks or so. In between these times, I would add new aspects to a copy of the model of the CBD. I also created a parking complex idea for Car Park 4. By mid-September we had made these changes and additions to the CDB using SketchUp:

--Brick and Concrete Sidewalks (instead of the existing cement) IMAGE

--Brick and Concrete Crosswalks (instead of the existing painted lines)

--Addition of Pedestrian Signals (Walk/ Do Not Walk lights at crosswalks)

--Pedestrian Bump-Outs (Mid-block pedestrian crossings for the middle of long blocks to prevent J-walking with furnature and trees for asthetical purposes)

--Addition of Crossing Lights and stop signs in intersections where they do not currently exist.

--New, Improved Lamp Posts with hanging plants

     In addition to an updated
Rye: 3D movie, at the Rye City Council Meeting in October I presented a brand new movie entitled Rye: 3D - The Future.
