After Seneca announced he was divorcing her, she found out she was pregnant with Seneca's child and gave birth to a baby girl, Arley. She ran away from New York with Arley and some of Seneca's money. She returned a year later. She found out that her father was one of the esteemed Kirklands and continued causing as many problems as before. Police officer Bill Hyde was Siobhan Ryan Novak's partner. The two soon became romantically linked and moved in together. However, when she found out her former husband, Joe Novak, had returned to town, she could think of nothing but him and elected to move out so she wouldn't hurt Bill. Later on, Siobhan revealed to Bill she was pregnant with Joe's baby. The problem was that Joe was married to the daughter of a mobster, and if it became public knowledge she feared the mob would hurt Joe. Bill offered to marry her, but instead they chose to just fake an engagement. Shortly after announcing their engagement, Siobhan called it off -- but pretended to now be pregnant with Bill's child. When the baby was born, Siobhan gave the child (named Sean) Bill's last name. Meanwhile, Bill became involved in a secret undercover investigation concerning Max Dubujack. After the investigation finished, Bill helped his hot-headed brother, Rick, who was having problems with the law. In November 1984, he convinced Siobhan to return to the police force, this time as Bill's partner. Bill left as Siobhan grew closer to Max Dubujack and Rick grew closer to Ryan Fenelli.
