PETITION
To the Honourable Speaker, Prime Minister and Members of the House of Representatives in this assembled Parliament.
It is the will of the undersigned citizens of Australia to petition Parliament urging immediate steps be taken to create a State within Australia to be called the State of Central Australia.
We, the Petitioners, support the formation of this state as a state representing and administered by the Aboriginal people of Australia.
We urge that this state have all of the rights and responsibilities of its sister states without prejudice. That all royalties, compensation and benefits accruing to said state are as would be assigned to other Australian States and Territories.
That formation of this state will be seen to represent to the entire world that all peoples are equal regardless of colour or creed within this country we call Australia.
It is the will of the undersigned that the Australian government grant the right of self-government to the Aboriginal people of Australia.
It is the will of the undersigned petitioners to support the inauguration of a new state to be called the state of Central Australia
It is our will that the land between the 22° and 30° parallel Australia be considered, encompassing the Warburton Mission in Western Australia and including Ernabella Mission in South Australia to form part of the new state of Central Australia.
It is the will of the undersigned petitioners, to support and recommend that the funding formulae of this new state be based on the Federal Government’s funding formulae used for other states, without prejudice.
It is our will that the seat of justice of both Federal and State jurisdiction be located in Uluru.
It is our will to petition Parliament to put in place the legislation and funding to carry out R & D (Research and Development) and develop the necessary infrastructure immediately.
It is our will that Parliament accept this petition as a demonstration of our government recognising the rights of the Aboriginal people of Australia to be treated with respect and dignity and without prejudice.
It is the will of the Petitioners in respectfully asking Parliament to consider our Petition with all seriousness.
