Every Journey Starts Somewhere

Built in 1958 by Founder Chef Zhū and his family, the original TOWN Kitchen brought the first authentic Chinese cuisine to the city of Concord, NH and quickly became a hub for the community to gather and enjoy quality dining. The Zhū family grew to become great supporters of the arts and often supplied catering to local galleries and fund raisers at no cost. Year after year the restaraunt and family won awards for quality and charity.

22 years after opening the doors and living out his life-long passion of serving good food to good people, Chef Zhū fell ill and soon after passed. No sooner did this tragedy occur, TOWN Kitchen then burned to the ground in a freak electrical fire. Some believe that Chef Zhū took TOWN Kitchen with him to share his talents in the afterlife.

The Zhū family in debt from medical bills and the insurance having lapsed on the restaurant, the citizens of Concord banded together and financially assisted the Zhū family in their trying time, but it was not enough to rebuild the restaurant. Even if it had been rebuilt, Chef Zhū's children all followed their own passions outside of cooking and there was no one to take up the mantle. Until 34 years later...

Rebirth

In 2014, Chef Zhū's grandson wed Chef Rebecca Zhang and together began the journey to bring the heart of authentic chinese cuisine back to Concord, NH. New location, new look, same TOWN.
